Broncos | Cutler's agent says team assured offensive staff would stay

Thomas George, of NFL.com, reports Bus Cook, agent for Denver Broncos QB Jay Cutler, said Cutler was disappointed with the firing of former head coach Mike Shanahan but met with owner Pat Bowlen who assured Cutler that the offensive staff would stay intact. However, when head coach Josh McDaniels was hired, he changed most of the offensive staff. Bowlen said he does not recall that meeting with Cutler.

Jeff Legwold, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos QB Jay Cutler is not happy the team fired head coach Mike Shanahan. "I'm disappointed, I'm shocked, I'm not happy about it, I'm not pleased with it at all," Cutler said Tuesday, Dec. 30. "We had zero inkling this was going to happen. I didn't have a clue." Cutler is concerned the team will take a step back if they were to lose all of their offensive coaches.

Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan said during his press conference FB Peyton Hillis can be used as a tailback as well as a fullback in the offense. Shanahan said Hillis plays better with the ball in his hands at tailback running the ball or catching the ball out of the backfield and will get more time at tailback. Hillis could eventually be used on the line of scrimmage.
