The Seattle Seahawks signed RB Adrian N. Peterson because they are a little thin at running back with Leon Washington (leg) returning from a broken leg and Louis Rankin (hamstring) being slowed with a hamstring injury, reports Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times.

Greg Johns, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora said RB Louis Rankin will have his playing time increased in Week 11 because RB Julius Jones (lung) will not play.

Dave Boling, of The News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks RB Louis Rankin had three carries for 24 yards, in addition to three receptions for 24 yards, in Week 10 in relief of injured RB Julius Jones (rib, lung). Rankin also averaged 20.5 yards on two kickoff returns.
