Bills | Offensive Line Dinged |
Sat, 03 Nov 2001 09:03:59 -0800
The Buffalo News reports Buffalo Bills starting OTs John Fina and Jonas Jennings missed their third straight practice Friday with leg and foot injuries, respectively. Neither has been ruled out for Sunday, but the best-case scenario would have them serve as emergency backups. G Jerry Ostroski (broken leg) practiced Wednesday and Thursday, but he was held out Friday and it is clear he isn't completely recovered. Fina is expected to be replaced by rookie Marques Sullivan, while Jon Carman steps in for Jennings for the second straight week. The offensive line situation is a big problem for a team that has struggled to run the football and protect QB Rob Johnson.

Fri, 10 Aug 2001 17:34:09 -0700
Allen Wilson of the Buffalo News reports for the Sporting News Buffalo Bills rookie OT Jonas Jennings appears to be the leading candidate to win the starting right tackle position. He has been impressive in training camp, displaying good strength, quickness and agility. Kris Farris, the early favorite to win the job, has been working on the left side as a backup to John Fina. Farris is still in the running to start on the right side along with veterans Robert Hicks and Jon Carman. Carman suffered a sprained foot recently which will impact his practice time.

Bills | Hicks Looking To Start Again |
Mon, 30 Apr 2001 10:33:43 -0700
The Buffalo News reports Buffalo Bills OT Robert Hicks is looking to get back into the starting lineup in 2001. He will battle with Jon Carman and Kris Farris at right tackle. Last year after being demoted by former offensive line coach Carl Mauck, Hicks became discouraged and didn't play with the desire he displayed in his first two seasons. A new Hicks has now emerged, one with more confidence and a commitment to be better. "I know I can be one of the best offensive linemen in this league. I just have to believe in myself and do the things I know I have to do. I do know that I need to keep getting better." said Hicks.
