Mon, 12 Oct 2009 06:37:33 -0700 David Scott and Charles Chandler, of The Charlotte Observer, reports Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox denied a FOXSports.com report which said he'd told friends and some close acquaintances that he expected to be fired at the end of the season. "I think if I was talking to my friends, I'd probably tell them if I was expecting a new five-year contract, but I don't think I'd be telling them I'm getting fired at the end of the season," Fox said. "I really don't even know how to respond to that. It doesn't make much sense if it did come out."

He measured a 33 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-10 broad jump. Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox attended the workout and the New England Patriots showed quite a bit of interest.

Fox said he believes Delhomme just had a bad day at the office. In his last two playoff games, Delhomme has thrown eight interceptions and just two touchdown passes. He has one year remaining on his contract with the team.
