New Orleans Saints DE Kenyon Coleman (undisclosed), LB Jonathan Vilma (undisclosed), LB David Hawthorne (undisclosed) and FS Malcolm Jenkins (undisclosed) did not participate in team drills during organized team activities Thursday, May 23. Head coach Sean Payton said none of the players are dealing with serious injuries.

Saints | Cap savings found with several restructured deals

By restructuring the contracts of WR Marques Colston, G Jahri Evans, G Ben Grubbs and LB David Hawthorne, the New Orleans Saints have shaved around $10 million off of their 2013 salary cap. Before the moves, the Saints were roughly $15 million over the 2013 projected salary cap.

The New Orleans Saints have restructured the contract of LB David Hawthorne. He converted a portion of his base salary into a signing bonus. He was set to receive a $3 million roster bonus, which he turned into a signing bonus. The move saves the team $2.05 million against the salary cap.
