Harvey Fialkov, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins WR Derrius Thompson didn't seem to lock up a roster spot despite his five catches for 98 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown during the team's preseason game Thursday, Sept. 1. "He certainly played and made some good plays in the game. He also went down in the game, so how's that elevator go up and down, huh?" head coach Nick Saban said. "He pulled up and came out of the game, a slight strain of his (hamstring), I guess." A frustrated Thompson felt he was auditioning for the league.

The Sun-Sentinel reports Miami Dolphins WR Derrius Thompson may have saved his job Thursday, Sept. 1. He had five catches for 98 yards, including two sensational grabs and a 20-yard touchdown pass from QB Sage Rosenfels with 8:19 to play in the fourth quarter.

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins WR Derrius Thompson is now listed with the third string offense for the team's next game Saturday, Aug. 20, against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Thompson hasn't been particularly impressive in training camp and dropped a pass in the exhibition opener against the Chicago Bears.
