The Associated Press reports former NFL RB Franco Harris has been named chairman of the board of a scholarship program for city high school students. He was the unanimous choice of the board that will oversee the Pittsburgh Promise program.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports former Pittsburgh Steelers RB Franco Harris has been named to the board of directors for The Pittsburgh Promise, a program to help graduates of Pittsburgh Public Schools pay for college.
