During his press conference Monday, Aug. 21, New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini commented on the addition of TE Walter Rasby (Patriots). "Walter's a physical guy, he's a tough guy, good run blocker and a good person. I'm looking for a lot of things from the veterans like leadership, experience, toughness and I like the things that he's done in the running game. I think that that's a real asset."

"I already know a lot of the coaches. We had a good meeting. Hopefully, in the next couple of days, I can make a decision." The Redskins and Rams are also in the market for Rasby.

The Associated Press reports Washington Redskins G Ben Coleman (bruised leg) did not practice today and TE Walter Rasby (ankle) was limited. QB Tony Banks (ankle) took part in the full practice. All three are probable to play Sunday. TE Stephen Alexander was awaiting a second opinion on tests on his broken leg. He indicated team doctors told him he might be able to play in a couple of weeks.

Rasby may miss practice tomorrow with a sprained right ankle while Flemister was limited in the light workout yesterday because of general soreness. Both are expected to play Sunday.

Paul Woody, of the Richmond Times-Dispatch, reports for the Sporting News, that with TE Stephen Alexander (leg) out for awhile, Zeron Flemister will fill the role at tight end for the Washington Redskins. Flemister has had plenty of playing time this year and has improved each week. The team started Walter Rasby last weekend.
