KFFL has learned New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel said he tentatively plans to stick with PK Brett Conway despite a poor debut in which he missed two field goals and kicked off poorly under very poor field and weather conditions in Foxboro. Giants PK Matt Bryant (hamstring) still is two or three weeks away from returning from a hamstring injury.

Updating previous reports, Tara Sullivan, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Giants have confirmed that PKs Brett Conway (Colts), Jeff Chandler (49ers), Neil Rackers (Bengals), Danny Boyd (Jaguar), and Jose Cortez (49ers) will try out for the team on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Giants kicker Matt Bryant (hamstring) is expected to miss three to four weeks with a pulled hamstring.

San Francisco 49ers K Owen Pochman won a tryout Tuesday, Sept. 16, over free agent K Brett Conway to replace Jeff Chandler as kicker. The 49ers like Pochman's strong leg, as they deemed their difficulty on kickoffs more worrisome than Chandler's inconsistency on field goals.
