Updating an earlier report, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said OG Brian Waters (triceps, rib, knee) suffered a torn triceps and is out for the season. OG Mackenzy Bernadeau will start in his place.

Dallas Cowboys OG Brian Waters thinks he's ready to start in Week 4 against the San Diego Chargers. Waters has alternated with OG Mackenzy Bernadeau through the first three weeks of the season at right guard. "That's the goal, to try to make it through the whole game," said Waters, who has been working with the first team this week in practice. "We'll see how it goes. Mack (Bernadeau) will be ready to go. I think we're all confident he'll be ready to go if anything happens." Waters is 36 years of age and came out of retirement to play this season.

Dallas Cowboys OG Mackenzy Bernadeau has been working at center during practice this week because the team may want to dress only seven linemen for game days with Bernadeau being the backup center. If the team decides to dress only seven linemen, C Phil Costa may not be active.

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Bill Callahan said the coaches will meet over the next few days to determine if OG Brian Waters will be active for Week 2 and what he role would be if he plays. Head coach Jason Garrett said Waters and OG Mackenzy Bernadeau could split time at right guard.

Dallas Cowboys RT Doug Free was working at right guard during practice Wednesday, Aug. 21. OT Jermey Parnell was used at right tackle, while OG Mackenzy Bernadeau was moved to left guard. OT Tyron Smith worked at left tackle, with C Travis Frederick in the middle. "We're mixing guys all over the offensive line with the ones and the twos just to see what fits and really to be able to function in practice," head coach Jason Garrett said.

Dallas Cowboys OG Mackenzy Bernadeau (hamstring) likely will not play in the Hall of Fame Game because he is just coming back from a hamstring injury. Bernadeau received snaps with the first- and second-team offense during practice Friday, Aug. 2.
