Dallas Cowboys CB Brandon Carr has played for four different defensive coordinators in his five years in the league. Defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin will be his fifth coordinator to work under. "I've been playing for different coaches, different schemes pretty much my whole career in the NFL," Carr said. "I feel like it's kind of adding to my versatility. It's all about learning and trying to grasp whatever's thrown at me."

Dallas Cowboys CB Brandon Carr said the cornerbacks will be more active at the line of scrimmage to stop the run under defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin. "They already told us to pretty much get ready for 16 weeks of being as physical as you can be," Carr said. "Not only disrupting the timing of the receivers but also when our number is called to come up and stop the run and come up and tackle."

Dallas Cowboys CB Brandon Carr restructured his contract to convert most of his $14.3 million 2013 salary into a signing bonus. Carr said he was willing to help the team in order to bring in more players. "I restructured my contract basically just to free up some money to get some more players in," Carr said. "I'm a team player. I believe in getting as many guys as possible that can help us get to our goal, and that's to win a championship."

Dallas Cowboys CB Brandon Carr said he is excited about new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin's scheme. Carr will be asked to play a lot more zone coverage than he did under former defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, something Carr says is necessary with the current league rules allowing little contact with wide receivers. "In years past you could go up and challenge the guys and be aggressive and beat them up all the way down the field," Carr said. "But now the game has changed so much that if you even look at them sometimes, they're throwing the flag."

Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has told players to watch tape of the Seattle Seahawks defense to receive an idea of what his defense will look like in 2013. "I kind of asked him what our philosophy and what the look of our defense was going to be, and as a prime example he said, 'Go see Seattle film and you'll probably learn a lot from those guys and just watch how they move on the field.'" CB Brandon Carr said. "That's some homework for me to do for the next couple of weeks."

The Dallas Cowboys may ask WR Miles Austin and CB Brandon Carr to restructure their contract this offseason in order to create some salary cap space. The two players are combined to make $21 million in 2013.
