Fantasy Tip: If you're searching for stolen bases off the waiver wire, Bourjos may be your best bet. Mike Scioscia already has said that he'll return to starting center field duties, pushing Mike Trout back to left.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Peter Bourjos (hamstring) is aiming Monday, June 10, to return from the 15-day disabled list. He will play center field in a minor-league rehab game for Class A Inland Empire Thursday, June 6, before joining Triple-A Salt Lake Friday, June 7. "Three days in Salt Lake, then we'll see where he is," manager Mike Scioscia said Wednesday, June 5. "Hopefully he's ready."

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Peter Bourjos (hamstring) tripled in his rehab start with Single-A Inland Empire Monday, June 3, and he's expected to come off the disabled list later this week. Bourjos will go back to starting in center field, pushing OF Mike Trout back to left field.

Fantasy Tip: J.B. Shuck will lose basically all of his minimal fantasy value when Bourjos returns. In deep mixed leagues, Bourjos can provide stolen-base seekers a nice weapon. Stash him now if that is your need.

Fantasy Tip: With regular playing time, Bourjos can be a nice speed asset in mixed leagues, assuming he can pick up where he left off before landing on the disabled list. J.B. Shuck will return to a bench role and will be largely useless, except in AL-only leagues.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Peter Bourjos (hamstring) resumed running Monday, May 27. He's still a couple of weeks away from returning from the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: The Angels are taking it slow with Bourjos, since the majority of his game is based on his speed. Once he is ready to return, he should be considered for a roster spot in deep mixed leagues for stolen bases. Bourjos was swinging the bat well before his injury, too.

Fantasy Tip: J.B. Shuck still has some time to take advantage of his increased playing time for AL-only managers. Bourjos is ramping up his baseball activities and could be nearing a rehab assignment, though. Once Bourjos returns, Shuck will be mostly useless in fantasy leagues.

Although Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout is in center field now while OF Peter Bourjos (hamstring) recovers from a strained left hamstring, the plan is to return Trout to left field when Bourjos comes back in two to four weeks.
