Cardinals | Jon Jay still out

Wed, 13 May 2015 11:08:26 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jon Jay (thumb) remains out of the starting lineup Wednesday, May 13. OF Peter Bourjos is starting in center field again and hitting ninth in the batting order against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) isn't a strong play at FantasyScore this evening while facing the reigning Cy Young winner in the American League. Kluber has had a rough go of it to start the year, but he's still striking out hitters at an elite level and isn't walking many.

Cardinals | Jon Jay remains out Tuesday

Tue, 12 May 2015 11:36:47 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jon Jay (thumb) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 12. OF Peter Bourjos is starting in center field again and hitting ninth in the batting order against Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been playing well of late as he's split time in center field with Jay. However, a move to the bottom of the order will limit his plate appearances and ceiling at FantasyScore tonight. He could still be looked at as a sleeper outfield play, though.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos leading off again

Fri, 08 May 2015 14:01:41 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is starting in center field and hitting leadoff again Friday, May 8, against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Francisco Liriano. OF Jon Jay will start on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been seeing more time in center and in the leadoff spot, and it looks like he's entered into a platoon there with Jay, even though Jay has been very adequate against lefties in his career. Bourjos has seven hits in 23 at-bats in his career against Liriano, and he's hitting .345 (10-for-29) with four stolen bases this year. For the price, it's hard not to like Bourjos in a leadoff spot.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos starting vs. Cubbies

Wed, 06 May 2015 15:00:04 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is batting leadoff and starting in center field against the Chicago Cubs Wednesday, May 6.

Fantasy Tip: Righty Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) draws in against left-handed Jon Lester in place of Jon Jay. While it is a tough opposing arm, Bourjos' riding a 7-for-16 run with five runs, three RBI and a stolen base. With Lester's woes holding runners on base, don't be surprised to see Boujors swipe a bag or two Wednesday, if he reaches base. FantasyScore players have a potential bargain on their hands.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos hitting well

Mon, 04 May 2015 04:33:24 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is 6-for-12 in his last five games.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) was a light hitter for most of his time in Los Angeles with the Angels, but his second year with the Cardinals sees him finding more hitting opportunities. He's currently platooning with Jon Jay in center, so ride this hot hand while you can.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos pays off in start

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 22:50:08 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos made just his second start of the season Wednesday, April 29, against the Philadelphia Phillies. He finished 2-for-4 with a triple, run scored and RBI. It wasn't all great, as he also struck out and was caught stealing.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos' biggest asset are his legs, and he showed off his speed Wednesday. He was likely making the start due to the fact he entered 7-for-15 with a homer and four RBIs lifetime against Aaron Harang. Don't expect to see Bourjos become a regular fixture in the lineup. However, when he does start he can be a help to FantasyScore owners at just $1,900 (or 3.8% of cap).

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos starting against Phillies

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 13:27:45 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is leading off and starting in center field against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday, April 29.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has only received one start all season and 12 plate appearances, so he is nothing more than a flier for FantasyScore players. However, hitting atop a solid Cardinals' lineup is a nice spot for fantasy upside.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos playing Sunday

Sun, 26 Apr 2015 09:10:04 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos will be the starting center fielder against the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday, April 26.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has gone hitless in his six at-bats this season, but has stolen three bases in his limited time. He may not be a great option for owners on FantasyScore to use Sunday.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos back Friday

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 19:12:26 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos will return from the paternity list Friday, April 24, against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Fantasy Tip: Although Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) will be available Friday, he has just four at-bats in seven games this year and should be considered a non-factor at FantasyScore.
