St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos will return from the paternity list Friday, April 24, against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Fantasy Tip: Although Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) will be available Friday, he has just four at-bats in seven games this year and should be considered a non-factor at FantasyScore.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos will be placed on the paternity list Tuesday, April 21. The team will promote P Mitch Harris from Triple-A Memphis in his absence.
Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900; 3.8% of cap) has plenty of speed, but he hasnít had much time to show it off in St. Louis. FantasyScore likely wonít even notice Bourjos when he is gone. Fantasy owners in NL-only rotisserie leagues will not like the timing of his absence, however.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward hasn't been mentioned in a platoon in right field, even though he's hit just .210 with a .293 on-base percentage and .325 slugging percentage against left-handed pitchers in 283 plate appearances in the last two seasons. The Cardinals think he can turns things around and be successful against lefties. OFs Randal Grichuk and Peter Bourjos will likely have to wait their turn for playing time, since OF Jon Jay has been very successful against left-handers in his career.
Fantasy Tip: Heyward presents an excellent buying opportunity in fantasy drafts this year, especially since he's moving to a much better lineup in St. Louis. The fact that he won't be in a platoon situation makes him an even better purchase. Grichuk is likely to see more playing time than Bourjos this year if Jay or Heyward falter, but he's probably not worth anything more than a late-round flier in deep mixed leagues.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Oscar Taveras is starting in center field Wednesday, July 9, against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Fantasy Tip: This is what fantasy owners are hoping happens more frequently going forward. Allen Craig, Matt Adams, Matt Holliday and Taveras are all in the lineup. Manager Mike Matheny said he would give Taveras time in center field depending on the stadium. Today's start comes at home, so Taveras could begin getting additional starts in center field if he plays well defensively. NL-only owners will want to monitor this situation closely, as Jon Jay and Peter Bourjos could lose even more playing time.

St. Louis Cardinals OF Oscar Taveras is starting in center field Wednesday, July 2.
Fantasy Tip: Taveras is expected to mainly play the corner outfield spots, but St. Louis would like to challenge him in center, too, since it'll give them more lineup flexibility. If Taveras proves he can be effective in center, it means less playing time for Peter Bourjos.
