Cardinals | Peter Bourjos at leadoff

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 15:19:07 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is starting in center field and hitting leadoff against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Tuesday, June 30. OF Jon Jay is on the bench against the left-handed hurler.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) will benefit from more at-bats in the leadoff spot. Unfortunately, he only has six hits in 27 at-bats in June and is mainly useful for daily gamers because of his speed. He's also only hitting .237 (9-for-38) against left-handers this season, and Sale is among one of the toughest he'll face.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos starting against Phillies

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 13:08:47 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is starting in center field and batting eighth in the order Saturday, June 20, against the Philadelphia Phillies and RHP Phillippe Aumont. OF Jon Jay comes out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) had gone 1-for-3 with a double in back-to-back games before being held hitless Thursday, June 18. Bourjos is hitting .261 against right-handed pitching this season, but he doesn't have much of an upside on FantasyScore. Owners can do better in this price range.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos shines in start

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 05:20:08 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, walk and two RBIs Tuesday, June 9, against the Colorado Rockies.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($2,300; or 4.6% of cap) was making a rare start with Matt Holliday injured. If he can continue to draw starts and perform this well he will be a steal for FantasyScore players at this salary level.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos playing Sunday

Sun, 31 May 2015 11:08:30 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is in the starting lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday, May 31. He will bat leadoff and play center field. Bourjos had been scheduled to get the day off but was added to the lineup when OF Matt Holliday (illness) was scratched and OF Randall Grichuk was moved from center field to left field.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is only batting .259 on the season but he's hitting .333 at home, as opposed to .186 on the road. He makes an intriguing, low-cost outfield option in FantasyScore today.

Cardinals | Peter Bourjos starting in CF

Fri, 29 May 2015 14:43:12 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Peter Bourjos is starting in center field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Mike Bolsinger Friday, May 29.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is mainly attractive to FantasyScore users if he's setting the table for the Redbirds, so he's more of a sleeper tonight while hitting eighth. Plus, Bolsinger has been extremely stingy in his four starts this year, allowing no more than one earned run or five hits in any of his outings in 2015.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward not playing

Sun, 24 May 2015 10:44:00 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward (hip) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 24. OF Peter Bourjos will take his place in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Heyward ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is dealing with an injury and it is not known when he will be able to return to the lineup. Bourjos ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has only four hits in his last 11 games, so owners on FantasyScore may want to look for other options.

Cardinals | Jason Heyward not starting

Sat, 23 May 2015 13:52:11 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jason Heyward is not in the starting lineup Saturday, May 23, against the Kansas City Royals. OFs Matt Holliday, Randal Grichuk and Peter Bourjos will start with 1B Mark Reynolds serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Reynolds ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has three home runs on the season, and he has the ability to offer some occasional power. With a 33.7% strikeout rate and hitting out of the eighth spot in the batting order, Reynolds doesn't need much consideration on FantasyScore.

Cardinals | Jon Jay still out

Wed, 13 May 2015 11:08:26 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Jon Jay (thumb) remains out of the starting lineup Wednesday, May 13. OF Peter Bourjos is starting in center field again and hitting ninth in the batting order against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber.

Fantasy Tip: Bourjos ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) isn't a strong play at FantasyScore this evening while facing the reigning Cy Young winner in the American League. Kluber has had a rough go of it to start the year, but he's still striking out hitters at an elite level and isn't walking many.
