Free-agent RP Hunter Jones (Marlins), who was released recently by the Florida Marlins, has been offered a contract for next year, according to The Miami Herald's Manny Navarro. Jones recently underwent tests on an injured elbow.

Updating a previous report, The Associated Press reports the Florida Marlins acquired Ps Hunter Jones and Jose Alvarez from the Boston Red Sox Thursday, Nov. 5, in exchange for OF Jeremy Hermida.

Boston Red Sox SP Jon Lester (knee) left the team's game Friday, Sept. 25, in the bottom of the third inning after he was hit in the right knee by a line drive. He walked off the field under his own power, but he was limping heavily. P Hunter Jones replaced Lester in the game.
