The Sports Xchange reports Washington Redskins backup LB/special teams ace Eddie Mason (shoulder) recently underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair one of his shoulders. There is still a chance the Redskins will re-sign him for the 2003 season. He is about to become an unrestricted free agent.

The Washington Post reports Washington Redskins LB LaVar Arrington (knee) and RG Ben Coleman (knee) will both be game-time decisions Sunday night. Arrington did a bit of work during today's practice, but Coleman remained sidelined, according to coach Marty Schottenheimer. Matt Campbell would replace Coleman and Eddie Mason would start at linebacker if Arrington is sidelined.

The Washington Post reports Washington Redskins starting LT Chris Samuels and reserve LB Eddie Mason were sick earlier today and both missed practice. The team expects both to play Sunday. Coach Marty Schottenheimer made it sound like TE Stephen Alexander (ankle) will not play Sunday. "I just don't think he's ready," Schottenheimer said. "He's just not fluid and natural. It's been a while since he's done a lot. I think that contributes to it."
