Miami Dolphins CB Jimmy Wilson has been moved to safety. Wilson, the team's seventh-round pick in 2011, is working with the second-team unit. Meanwhile, SS Chris X. Clemons and SS Reshad Jones started minicamp as the two starting safeties. SS Tyrell Johnson, also signed during the offseason, participated sparingly Tuesday, April 24, and is listed as a reserve for now.

The Minnesota Vikings are unlikely to bring back free-agent SS Tyrell Johnson (Vikings) (hamstring). Johnson said Wednesday, March 14, that he is "about 75 to 80 percent" healed from surgery in late November to repair a hamstring tendon avulsion.

The Minnesota Vikings are unlikely to bring back SS Tyrell Johnson, SS Jarrad Page, CB Benny Sapp or SS Andrew Sendejo in 2012. Page is expected to become a free agent in March, and he is not likely to re-sign. Sapp doesn't fit in with the youth movement in Minnesota, and he is unsigned heading into 2012. The Vikings are expected to cut bait with Johnson. Sendejo is signed through 2012, but he is probably not in the team's future plans.

Minnesota Vikings SS Tyrell Johnson (hamstring) said Monday, Jan. 2, that he will begin rehab work Tuesday, Jan. 3. He was placed on Injured Reserve late in November when he tore his hamstring tendon off the bone in a game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Minnesota Vikings SS Husain Abdullah and SS Tyrell Johnson will both be unrestricted free agents at season's end. Week 17 against the Chicago Bears might be their final game with the team. "It's a tough deal when you gave guys that you think can help you, but in this age in free agency you know that most guys that can still perform are going to want to explore," head coach Leslie Frazier said. "We'll do whatever we can with those guys we really want to keep here to try to keep them here."
