Brett Borden, of Panthers.com, reports Carolina Panthers LB Jessie Armstead signed with the Panthers as a free agent because he wanted to be reunited with head coach John Fox, who coached Armstead as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants from 1997-2001. "We stayed in touch, and when the opportunity came, I wasn't going to pass it up to play for him," Armstead said. "I'm just glad to be a part of this and am going to try to take us to the next step. It doesn't do you any good to go to the Super Bowl if you don't bring home that trophy. I've been there with Coach Fox. We need to bring it home this time."
