Red Bull Racing announced Friday, Feb. 10, that driver Landon Cassill will drive the No. 83 Toyota in the Daytona 500 and at least the first five races of the 2012 Sprint Cup season. Cassill has never raced in the Daytona 500. He said he has a deal in place to drive with the team all year. Doug Richert will serve as Cassill's crew chief. Sponsorship will be announced in the coming days.

TRG Motorsports announced Wednesday, April 13, that crew chief Doug Richert will serve as the team's new crew chief, according to SceneDaily.com's Bob Pockrass. He will serve as the crew chief for driver Andy Lally.

SceneDaily.com reports driver Casey Mears will drive for Keyed-Up Motorsports during the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. Doug Richert will serve as the crew chief for Mears.

NASCAR.com reports Keyed-Up Motorsports, which will make its 2010 Sprint Cup debut, has named Doug Richert the crew chief for the No. 90 car. Keyed-Up Motorsports will field Chevrolets purchased from Dale Earnhardt Inc.

Bob Pockrass, of SceneDaily.com, reports crew chief Doug Richert will take over as the crew chief for Robby Gordon Motorsports driver Robby Gordon in the Sprint Cup Series. Richert will be replacing crew chief Kirk Almquist.

Bob Pockrass, of SceneDaily.com, reports TRG Motorsports driver David Gilliland will drive a second car for Robby Gordon Motorsports during the Sprint Cup race at Kansas Speedway this weekend. Gilliland will have to qualify for the race based on speed. Doug Richert will serve as his crew chief for the race.

Bob Pockrass, of SceneDaily.com, reports Dale Earnhardt Inc. crew chief Doug Richert was required to endorse the Dale Earnhardt Foundation and to keep information learned about the Earnhardt family confidential as part of his contract with the team. DEI claims they had proper cause to fire Richert earlier this year and do not owe him any money because of the contract language. Richert was fired after the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond due to poor performance of the car, his failure to work with the other crew chiefs and for not following procedure while ordering parts.
