Thu, 16 Feb 2012 09:07:58 -0800 Roush Fenway Racing crew chief Bob Osborne, the crew chief for driver Carl Edwards, will miss the Budweiser Shootout this weekend because of the death of his father. Chip Bolin will fill in for the No. 99 Ford. Osborne will return next weekend.

Thu, 30 Oct 2008 07:43:16 -0700 Pete Pistone, of CBSSports.com, reports Roush Fenway Racing owner Jack Roush and Bob Osborne, the crew chief for driver Carl Edwards, think a change to the NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup format would make the Chase more exciting. "I don't think NASCAR wants to see their championship won by this many points, for sure," Osborne said. "I don't want to see it won by this many points. I don't think anybody wants to see it won by this many points, so if they come up with a format that can adjust this and make the Chase even that much more competitive, that would be wonderful." Roush thinks each Chase driver should receive one free pass during the 10-race playoff to throw out their worst finish of the schedule. NASCAR officials do not see the mulligan idea working in the future.
Sat, 08 Mar 2008 11:16:58 -0800 Josh Pate, of NASCAR.com, reports Roush Fenway Racing owner Jack Roush is ready to take a polygraph exam to prove he did not have any knowledge, nor was there any attempt, of his No. 99 team trying to cheat at Las Vegas. He was visually upset when his driver, Carl Edwards, along with crew chief Bob Osborne, were accused of purposely rigging an oil cap to come loose during the race. He defended his team and stood by their initial statement that a missing bolt came off.
Wed, 05 Mar 2008 13:52:48 -0800 ESPNews reports Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards was penalized 100 championship points for violating NASCAR rules. Edwards also was penalized the 10 bonus points he would have received if he was to qualify for the Chase. Crew Chief Bob Osborne was fined $100,000 and was suspended for the next six races. Team owner Jack Roush was penalized 100 owner's points as well. Edwards was first in the overall points standings but is now seventh overall after the penalty.
