Stewart-Haas Racing driver Tony Stewart was docked six championship points for failing a post-qualifying inspection for the Sprint Cup race at Daytona International Speedway last weekend. Stewart qualified second but was forced to start 42nd, but then went on to win for the third time this year. Crew chief Steve Addington was fined $25,000 and placed on probation until Aug. 22, and car chief Jeff Meendering was also put on probation.

Petty Enterprises crew chief Jeff Meendering has hit on a setup with the No. 43 Dodge, which has been very favorable to driver Bobby Labonte. After a test session earlier this month, the team was left with an empty feeling about what was underneath the car. After the qualifying session for the Daytona 500, they went to the Nashville Superspeedway for additional practice.
