The first play was the "Music City Miracle" when Dyson, then playing for the Tennessee Titans, caught a lateral on a kickoff return and raced down the sideline for a game-winning touchdown in a 1999 Wild Card playoff game against the Buffalo Bills. A few weeks later the second play occurred when, with a handful of seconds left in Super Bowl XXXIII, Dyson was stopped one yard short of the goal line on the last play of the game. The stop secured the St. Louis Rams' 23-16 win. "(Those plays are) something that's going to live forever," Dyson said. "Obviously I haven't had a storybook career like Jerry Rice, but my name will go down in history just because I'll never be forgotten from those two plays."

"Even if you're a backup, you want to be able to prepare yourself like you are a starter," Dyson said. "I've had that mentality my whole career. Competition makes everyone better. Newcomer WRs Santana Moss, David Patten and Kevin Dyson join incumbent WRs James Thrash, Antonio Brown and Taylor Jacobs for a unit that could win quite a few relay races at the local track. "We've probably got the fastest receiver corps in the NFL," RB Clinton Portis said. Head coach Joe Gibbs hopes that speed will help generate the deep passing game that was missing last year. It is also a small in height corps, Dyson is the only one of the six over 6 feet tall. "We're pretty fast. But we don't feel like that. We feel like we're underdogs," Patten said, responding to talk the Redskins would once again miss the playoffs.

"He is healthy," Fox said. "It is a new offense. We have got guys who are in midseason form. He is getting back accustomed. Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox said the team will wait until Saturday, Nov. 22 to make a decision on how to fill the roster spot that came open when S/ST player Jarrod Cooper was suspended for four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The most likely scenario would be to activate WR Kevin Dyson, who remains on the physically-unable-to-perform list. The Panthers have until Monday, Nov. 24, to either activate Dyson or place him on the injured reserve list.

Luckily, the team has a week more than they thought they had to make a decision. Dyson thought this was his last week of the three-week window given after coming off of the physically-unable-to-perform list, but Hurney said they have next week as well. Dyson, last week, said he would return to practice this week.
