However, his suspension is isolated to the Sprint Cup Series, meaning he can seek work in one of the sport's lower levels. Long's current full-time job is working with Front Row Motorsports in the Cup Series.

Wed, 20 May 2009 15:15:48 -0700 The Associated Press reports E and M Motorsports driver Carl Long was suspended 12 Sprint Cup races by NASCAR Wednesday, May 20, for using an engine that was too big for NASCAR's specifications in last weekend's race. Crew chief Charles Swing was fined $200,000. Long was docked a NASCAR-record 200 points and both Long and Swing were placed on probation until Dec. 31.
