SceneDaily.com reports MacDonald Motorsports driver Kevin Hamlin will drive the team's No. 81 Nationwide Series car at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend and at Texas Motor Speedway in April. D.H. Griffin will sponsor the car this weekend. Financial terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed.

Team Red Bull | Supervisor fired

David Newton, of ESPN.com, reports Team Red Bull fired a supervisor and reprimanded several other employees for their involvement in the violation that led to major points penalties and suspensions for driver Brian Vickers, according to general manager Jay Frye. Frye stated that Vickers and crew chief Kevin Hamlin had no knowledge of the violation.

Team Red Bull | Hamlin fined

The Associated Press reports Kevin Hamlin, crew chief for Team Red Bull's No. 83 Toyota driven by Brian Vickers, was fined $100,000 for dipping the car's sheet metal in acid to make it lighter than required. The infraction was found after the No. 83 Toyota was randomly picked for a post-race inspection after the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway. Hamlin and car chief Craig Smokstad were suspended indefinitely, which means they would miss the final month of the season. General manager Jay Frye said the team will not appeal the penalties.

SceneDaily.com reports Team Red Bull crew chief Kevin Hamlin was named the Wypall Wipers crew chief of the race for the LifeLock.com 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. He is crew chief for driver Brian Vickers.
