The Associated Press reports former NFL RB Eddie George is one of 12 Ohio State alumni selected for induction into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame. He will be inducted Friday, September 15, and honored the next day at halftime of the Cincinnati-Ohio State game at Ohio Stadium.

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports former NFL RB Eddie George has been hired as an analyst for Fox Sports Net. He will work with Fox's Jay Glazer and former NFL FS Jason Sehorn, among others, on "Pro Football Weekly," which airs on Thursdays. George said, "It's cool and I am excited about it. I don't know the exact format, but it looks like in-studio analyst and giving my opinion on things."

TitansOnline.com reports the Tennessee Titans see second-round draft pick RB LenDale White as a similar style runner to former Titan RB Eddie George. "He has a chance, in time, to be that type of back. He really has a chance to be that," head coach Jeff Fisher said.

Jamison Hensley, of the Balitmore Sun, reports former Tennessee Titans RB Eddie George said he believes the team will release QB Steve McNair. "Once (owner) Bud Adams makes a decision about you, his mind is made up," George told the NFL Network. The Ravens are expected to pursue McNair if he is cut by the Titans.

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports former Tennessee Titans RB Eddie George might sign a one-day deal with the team to retire as a Titan. The deal could happen at some point later this year. After sitting out the 2005 season, George realizes his football days are probably over. He added, "I haven't turned in my (retirement) papers. I plan on doing that at some point, but I haven't done it yet."

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports former Tennessee Titans RB Eddie George interviewed Monday, April 10, for a job with ESPN. George said he is resigned to the fact his football days are over after sitting out the 2005 season. George interviewed Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning Sunday, April 9, for WKRN-2. He expects to hear back from ESPN some time next week.

The Associated Press reports former NFL RB Eddie George is opening a restaurant in the South Campus Gateway project near Ohio State. The restaurant is named Eddie George's Grill 27. The bar is set at a 27-degree angle from High Street. The drink menu will feature 27 draft beers, 27 wines and 27 specialty drinks and the menu offers a 27-ounce porterhouse steak (which is not priced at $27.00). The $2 million restaurant seats 200 in its dining area and bar and has 41 flat-screen TVs, some in individual booths.

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports former RB Eddie George may consider running for mayor of Nashville. "I wouldn't put that outside the realm of possibility," George said. "Down the line, you never know what the future might hold. It's something I've thought about, and it could be a situation where a few years down the road I may think about it more." George said he's still disappointed that no team gave him a chance last season, and all but conceded his NFL career is over. "If an opportunity comes up for me to play somewhere I am going to look at it and evaluate it and see what's right for me. If it makes sense I'll move on it, and if not I'll probably move on and call it a day," George said.

Teresa M. Walker, of The Associated Press, reports free agent RB Eddie George visited the Tennessee Titans' training camp Wednesday, Aug. 10. George said it was emotional being back on the field where he spent so much time before asking to be released in July 2004 in a salary dispute. "It's good to see the old guys, see the coaches, some guys I played with and you know, it's a good feeling,'' George said. George keeps a house in Nashville, and he is training and staying in shape in case he does get a call. For now, he is scheduled to do television work for WKRN-2 in Nashville. ''Maybe something will come up in the next couple of weeks, but I'm not at all complaining right now (that) I have to be in camp in two-a-days,'' George said.

Mike Organ, of the Tennessean, reports free agent RB Eddie George (Cowboys) will be back with the Tennessee Titans when the preseason begins; this time, however, it will be in a television booth as he helps cover preseason games on WKRN-2. He is set to cover all four preseason games. George is still hoping to catch on with an NFL team this year.
