"The people that are consistent get more opportunities. If you're not consistent, you don't get as many opportunities to show us what you can do. But you mentioned Ryan had a big game - that was one of the reasons he's had a chance to get some reps. I think (RB Roy Helu Jr.) has taken advantage of those opportunities more than Ryan has. (RB Evan Royster) obviously this week against a pretty good defensive front - took advantage of an opportunity."

He's doing some great things," head coach Mike Shanahan said. "I don't want to put too much pressure on him too early. He's not ready for that. But he's gaining experience, and I like what I see." Torain started in Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys, but Helu and RB Tashard Choice saw plenty of work.
Shanahan isn't tipping his hand as to which running back will start in Week 12, but the team has started to roll with veteran players in the starting lineup recently. Shanahan doesn't want to rush Helu, but Torain isn't making the most of his opportunities to start games as the leading back.

Sun, 16 Oct 2011 08:44:32 -0700
Washington Redskins RB Tim Hightower (shoulder) is active and will be the team's starting running back against the Philadelphia Eagles during Week 6.
