Vito Stellino, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars DL Bryan Smith will start the team's Week 10 game at right defensive end in place of DL Quentin Groves. Head coach Jack Del Rio said both Smith and Groves would play in the game. Del Rio said Smith played a little better than Groves Week 9. Del Rio added, "We'll give him the opportunity to see if he can take advantage of it. He's quick, and he's got some speed leverage off the edge and some natural pass-rush ability."

McNeese State DL Bryan Smith worked out at his school's Pro Day Monday, March 17. Smith ran a 4.70 40-yard dash against the wind and a 4.54 40-yard dash with the wind. He had a 36 1/2-inch vertical jump and completed 18 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. Smith measured in at 6-foot-2 7/8 and 240 pounds.
