Miller was flagged for two false starts and allowed Seattle Seahawks DE Patrick Kerney to beat him three times for sacks. Head coach Lovie Smith said, "He'll play better. Fred Miller is a good football player. And it's tough for tackles on the road, especially when they're playing against good rushing ends, and Patrick Kerney is a good pass rusher. A lot of us didn't have our best games in Seattle."

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears OT Fred Miller will have his appeal of the $50,000 fine he received for the gun-range fight with teammate Olin Kreutz heard Thursday, March 23. He is hoping to have the amount reduced. Miller already lost $100,000 because of the incident, which resulted in a broken jaw, by missing a clause in his contract that called for him to be active for 16 games.

Rudolph Bush, of the Chicago Tribune, reports the fight between Chicago Bears C Olin Kreutz and OT Fred Miller will not lead to any criminal charges. None of the agents involved will face disciplinary action. The fight between the two players broke out last November at an FBI shooting range in North Chicago during an evening barbecue where both men were drinking. Robert Grant, special agent in charge of the Chicago FBI, has decided to ban alcohol at the facility. The FBI did pursue a criminal inquiry since the fight took part on federal property, but declined to follow through after facts were taken to the U.S. attorney's office.
