Redskins | Pierre Garcon will be ready

Thu, 06 Jun 2013 10:23:31 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, foot) said he will be ready for Week 1. "If there was a game tomorrow, I would be able to play," Garcon said about his recovery from shoulder surgery. "We are just taking precautions to make sure it heals properly." He also said the torn ligament in his right foot is improving. He will be wearing special shoes to help him out in that area.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries to Garcon and Robert Griffin III (knee) will need to be monitored during training camp, but if both are fully healthy in Week 1, they should be an explosive duo. Garcon will likely be more valuable in standard-scoring formats as a No. 2 wideout.

Redskins | Pierre Garcon does not think shoulder will be problem

Fri, 31 May 2013 06:27:25 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, foot) said recovery from offseason shoulder surgery is going well and does not expect it to be a problem during the regular season. He said his recovery from a foot injury is going well but will continue to monitor the injury. Garcon decided on to get surgery on his foot because he was told by doctors that they are not sure a procedure would solve the problem.

Fantasy Tip: Garcon likely will be a big part of the offense this season if he and QB Robert Griffin III (knee) are healthy, but there is a chance the foot injury could linger into the season. Garcon could be an every-week starter if everyone is healthy but could also be a flex option each week.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III throwing off back foot

Thu, 30 May 2013 14:38:51 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) has begun throwing, planting his feet, and taking seven-step drops. Griffin threw to WR Pierre Garcon, TE Fred Davis and RB Roy Helu. "Those are guys we'll lean heavily on in the season," Griffin said. "I'll build chemistry with them and get a feel for how Jordan and Chris play and continue to work with Fred and get back with Pierre. He's the guy… I want to make sure me and him are on the same page. He's a big-play receiver who can do a lot of things. It's good to see him back healthy and doing a lot of stuff."

Fantasy Tip: The good news continues to roll in for Griffin as he continues to work his way back from the knee issue. While there is still a long way to go, the real test will come as training camp and preseason games approach. Continue to monitor his statues, but fantasy football players should be

Redskins | Pierre Garcon underwent shoulder surgery

Thu, 23 May 2013 13:20:42 -0700

Washington Redskins WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder) underwent minor labrum surgery in January but has fully recovered. He was held out of team drills during organized team activities Thursday, May 23, as a precaution.

Fantasy Tip: The team has the option to take things slow with Garcon because the workouts are voluntary. Since Garcon has fully recovered from the surgery, he should be fine for the start of training camp. Garcon could be an every-week starter if QB Robert Griffin III (knee) is healthy but could also be a flex option most weeks. He probably will have more value in standard leagues as opposed to point-per-reception leagues.
