Updating a previous report, according to Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com, Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said he expects C Gennaro DiNapoli (foot), who is currently on the physically-unable-to-perform list, to begin practicing Tuesday, Nov. 9. That date is the deadline players on PUP must start practicing before teams are forced to put them on Injured Reserve.

Jennifer Floyd Engel, of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys C Gennaro DiNapoli (ankle) is out of the boot that protected a stress fracture on his ankle. However, DiNapoli has not returned to the practice field and Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells does not know when he will be able to return. "If he wasn't ready to play in the third preseason game, I don't see how I could do anything but prolong the physically unable to perform [stint]," Parcells said.

Dallas Cowboys C Gennaro DiNapoli (ankle) is suffering from a stress fracture in his right ankle, which will keep him sidelined for at least the first full week of training camp, according to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com. DiNapoli first experienced discomfort in the ankle in early June during minicamp, and after undergoing further tests, the injury was revealed. The typical recovery time for such an injury lasts from four to six weeks.

Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said he plans to give C Gennaro DiNapoli more playing time, beginning with Sunday's, Sept. 28, game against the New York Jets. DiNapoli, a full-time starter with the Tennessee Titans last year, has spent time adjusting to the Cowboys' scheme and getting into condition. Parcells said he planned to use him in tandem with starting C Matt Lehr. "I just think they can both make a good contribution, so I'm going to play them," Parcells said. "Gennaro missed the off-season and some of the summer. I think it's important to get him back in game shape and action. I think he's headed that way."

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans general manager Floyd Reese said he had two "really good conversations" Saturday, July 26 with the agent for free agent C Gennaro DiNapoli. "I would think if we can't get the deal done with him then we probably wouldn't be able to get a deal done with any other center," Reese said. Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said Saturday he wants DiNapoli back. If DiNapoli isn't re-signed, second-year G Justin Hartwig will probably be moved from guard to center.

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports the odds of free agent C Gennaro DiNapoli being signed and on the field for the start of Tennessee Titans' training camp does not look good. Agent Tony Agnone and Titans general manager Floyd Reese resumed contract negotiations Thursday, July 24, but remained without a deal. The two sides still see eye-to-eye on the length of the contract, even though Agnone said the Titans pitched the idea of a one-year deal instead of a four-year deal. Agnone said he didn't have a problem with that but wants more guarantees in the contract.

DiNapoli said Wednesday, July 23, that he's anxious to get back to work, but right now he also needs to take care of his wife, Holly, who had surgery to remove her tonsils.

Updating previous reports, The Nashville Tennessean reports that according to Tennessee Titans general manager Floyd Reese, the release of LB Randall Godfrey helps the team progress with three unsigned free agents (QB Neil O'Donnell, P Craig Hentrich and C Gennaro DiNapoli). Godfrey's release should allow them to bring in some of those players by next week. The release frees up more than $2 million in salary cap room and puts the team roughly $3 million under the cap.

His agent, Tony Agnone, left Nashville on Friday after meeting with GM Floyd Reese. The two sides discussed a five-year deal that would allow the two sides to part ways after one season. However, DiNapoli doesn’t want to return to the team as a backup.

The Tennessean reports the agent for Tennessee Titans C Gennaro DiNapoli is pushing for his client’s return to the team. DiNapoli is scheduled to earn a $1 million roster bonus, so he is on the bubble with the team as of now. His agent, Tony Agnone, said he made a proposal to Titans general manager Floyd Reese for a five-year deal that would be more cap friendly to the team. “I think what we have proposed to them is very solid, and Gennaro is a developing guy and he is young,” Agnone said. “I know a lot of people around the league are waiting to see what happens.” The Titans could save some money against the salary cap by converting the roster bonus into a signing bonus.

As an update to previous reports, the Tennessean reports DT Jason Fisk's agent, Josh Wright, said they received a counter-proposal from the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday and it was the first attempt at realistically getting a new deal done. Fisk becomes an unrestricted free agent on Friday. The team has also continued negotiations with LB Greg Favors, OL Gennaro DiNapoli and DT Josh Evans, who all become unrestricted free agents Friday.

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher said today DT Joe Salave'a will have his shoulder scoped in the next couple of days. QB Steve McNair is going to have his shoulder scoped on Thursday. CB Dainon Sidney is going to require an additional scope on his knee this week. OL Gennaro DiNapoli will have both shoulders scoped as early as this week. DT Jason Fisk will have both elbows scoped and as previously reported, RB Eddie George will have his ankle scoped soon. Fisher expects McNair to be "shutdown" from six-to-eight weeks. He thinks McNair will be participating with 100% arm strength in the May mini-camp. Fisher called George's surgery minor and he expects George will have his best off-season of his career.

The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans CB Donald Mitchell (knee) didn't practice on Thursday and isn't expected to play this weekend. G Zach Piller (wrist) has continued to practice but is still bothered by a sore wrist. The team hasn't decided who will start at center this weekend. C Kevin Long (knee) may be able to play, but the team will make a game-time decision between him and Gennaro DiNapoli.

According to the Tennesseean, Tennessee Titans TE Frank Wycheck (ankle) did not practice again Friday. Coach Jeff Fisher said the swelling in his ankle is going down. TE Erron Kinney (calf) did not practice again and he is doubtful for tomorrow's game. TE Shad Meier (thumb) was able to practice with a large cast on his left hand. The team expects LB Randall Godfrey (knee surgery) back in the lineup. ''Randall has improved,'' Fisher said. ''He has not taken a step backward all week.'' G Gennaro DiNapoli (flu) missed practice again. S Blaine Bishop (assorted injuries) will travel with the team, but he is not expected to play.
