Tue, 28 May 2013 16:51:12 -0700 The Cleveland Browns have TEs Gary Barnidge, Kellen Davis and Brad Smelley behind projected starter Jordan Cameron on the roster. Barnidge has done a good job of blocking, as has Davis, while Smelley could find a role as a H-back because of his receiving ability. Fantasy Tip: None of Cleveland's backup tight ends should be on your radar at this time. Cameron has upside, and could be heavily relied on in this system, but durability issues should be factored in when you consider drafting him as a TE2.
Fri, 15 Mar 2013 21:46:16 -0700 Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge is expected to be more of a role player than a vital cog in the team's offense. Fantasy Tip: Barnidge is best known for his blocking and not his offense, and that won't change in Cleveland. Jordan Cameron is the best option to replace Benjamin Watson right now, but the team is still active in the free agency market. Fred Davis, Dustin Keller and Brandon Myers remain possibilities.
Wed, 13 Mar 2013 18:31:32 -0700 Updating a previous report, the Cleveland Browns signed free-agent TE Gary Barnidge (Panthers) to a three-year deal for $3.75 million, and that includes a $650,000 signing bonus, according to a league source. Fantasy Tip: Barnidge is reunited with Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski, who was his offensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers. Barnidge is not an offensive weapon by any stretch, but he is a fantastic blocker. Avoid him for fantasy purposes, as his value is much greater to his real team.

Sun, 04 Nov 2012 17:59:08 -0800 Carolina Panthers WR Armanti Edwards had just one catch in Week 9 against the Washington Redskins, but it was good for an 82-yard gain to lead the team in receiving yardage for the game. TE Greg Olsen checked in with a team-high five catches for 48 yards, while TE Gary Barnidge managed a 13-yard reception. WR Louis Murphy barely made the stat sheet with a four-yard catch on his only grab.
