|Patriots | Key Patriots absent Thursday |
Thu, 26 May 2016 15:17:29 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot), RB LeGarrette Blount (knee), RB Dion Lewis (knee), WR Danny Amendola (ankle, knee) and TE Rob Gronkowski (undisclosed) did not participate in organized team activities Thursday, May 26.
Fantasy Tip: The Patriots are infamous for their vague injury reports and resting of players. Obviously they're going to take caution with the players listed above, though. As long as none of these guys suffer any setbacks this offseason, they should be good to go for the start of the regular season. Edelman and Gronk should both be viewed as fantasy starters at their respective positions, with more value in PPR formats. Lewis is an RB2 candidate in PPR formats if he can stay healthy, while Blount has RB3 potential if he, too, can keep his health. Amendola is the biggest injury risk; he shouldn't be viewed as more than a low-end WR4 to high-end WR5.

|Patriots | Danny Amendola recovering|
Mon, 16 May 2016 13:54:28 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee, ankle) is recovering from a pair of offseason surgeries that could prevent him from being ready for the start of the 2016 season. Amendola had surgery on a troublesome left knee and another surgery to remove a bone spur in his ankle, according to a source. Both surgeries happened early this offseason. It's still too early to know when Amendola will be fully recovered, but his knee will demand a longer recovery schedule than his ankle.
Fantasy Tip: Amendola has had a propensity for injuries during his career. He's only played two full seasons in his seven-year career, and hasn't scored more than three touchdowns in any season either. Don't think of him as more than a low-end WR4, with extra value in PPR formats.

|Patriots | Danny Amendola takes big pay cut|
Tue, 10 May 2016 07:59:19 -0700
Updating previous reports, New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola can earn $1.6 million in 2016, which is a pay cut of $4.4 million from his last contract. He's set to earn $6.5 million in 2017, but none of it is guaranteed. That means they'll have a decision to make on him again next offseason.
Fantasy Tip: Amendola is useful in PPR leagues because he catches a decent volume of passes. However, most of them are short routes that he has been unable to break very often. He has never racked up more than 689 yards and three touchdowns in his career. He's a decent WR4 that could have an occasional breakout game.

|Patriots | Nate Washington could be cut|
Mon, 09 May 2016 11:21:54 -0700
New England Patriots WR Nate Washington is not a lock for the final roster, in the opinion of ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss. Reiss indicated that only WRs Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola and Malcolm Mitchell are locks for the 53-man roster.
Fantasy Tip: It's interesting that a veteran like Washington wouldn't be a guarantee in the Patriots' relatively shallow receiver corps, especially considering Amendola's injury history. Washington should not be viewed as more than a WR5.

|Patriots | Danny Amendola restructures|
Fri, 06 May 2016 08:08:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Amendola has teased fantasy owners at times, but we pretty much know that he's not going to consistently feed us. His 65 grabs last season was pretty good, but he had just 648 yards and three touchdowns. He has never amassed more than 689 yards and three scores in his career. He's a solid WR4 in PPR leagues that can have an occasional breakout game.

|Patriots | Malcolm Mitchell fits in New England|
Sat, 30 Apr 2016 10:43:17 -0700
New England Patriots WR Malcolm Mitchell has the short-area burst the team looks for in receivers, and beat writer Mike Reiss believes the addition of Mitchell will give the team flexibility in handling the contract situation of WR Danny Amendola.
Fantasy Tip: The Patriots aren't exactly loaded at receiver, so Mitchell could have a chance to make an impact in the near future. He is worth keeping an eye on in standard formats and is worth drafting in dynasty leagues.

|Patriots | Danny Amendola done with Pats?|
Wed, 16 Mar 2016 22:45:07 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola might be in danger of losing his job, as a source with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday, March 16, that it's indeed possible Amendola could be released.
Fantasy Tip: The Patriots added Martellus Bennett and Chris Hogan to the receiving game, and Amendola carries a big number against the salary cap. It is possible he could be asked to restructure if he wants to stay, but that remains to be seen. If he does return to New England, with Julian Edelman back to health and a number of receivers added, his fantasy value wouldn't be great since he'll be down the pecking order.

|Patriots | Chris Hogan to line up outside|
Sat, 12 Mar 2016 15:38:53 -0800
New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan is likely to be the team's "X" receiver with WR Julian Edelman at the "Z" receiver and WR Danny Amendola in the slot. Hogan is bigger and stronger than the other two, but he has some deep-ball skills.
Fantasy Tip: Hogan looks like a nice sleeper as it stands right now. He could very well move into the WR4 range before the season begins.

|Patriots | Danny Amendola release not expected|
Sun, 31 Jan 2016 12:21:06 -0800
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola is not expected to be released this offseason despite a $6.8 million salary cap hit he would cause. Releasing Amendola would save the Patriots $3.5 million against the salary cap.
Fantasy Tip: The Patriots seem more likely to cut ties with Jerod Mayo in order to save some money as opposed to cutting Amendola. Amendola did have his best season as a Patriot in New England and stayed relatively healthy, which would make cutting him even harder. If he stays, he would likely be the Patriots' No. 2 wide receiver behind Julian Edelman.

|Patriots | Three key Patriots active Sunday|
Sun, 24 Jan 2016 10:48:37 -0800
New England Patriots WRs Julian Edelman (foot) and Danny Amendola (knee) and TE Rob Gronkowski (knee, back) are all officially active for the AFC Championship against the Denver Broncos Sunday, Jan. 24.
Fantasy Tip: There was really no doubt that these three would play despite their questionable tags. New England's passing game could be utilized early and often against the Broncos; Edelman ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) and Gronk ($8,000, 16.0%) have more upside, but Amendola ($6,100, 12.2%) is also worth a look if you're rostering a FantasyScore playoff team.
