Drivers Kenny Wallace and Brian Ickler will serve as backup drivers. Kenseth plans to be behind the wheel during the race days, but may be absent during practices.

Crew chief Chris Rice was also fined $10,000 as well as $1,000 for a rear coil spring that exceeded the maximum specified height. Jay Robinson Racing will not appeal. Rice was put on probation for the remainder of the year.

Nationwide has planned to send NASCAR drivers to high schools across the country to help send out the message that multitasking while driving is dangerous. Students will receive a firsthand look at the impact driving while multitasking has on their abilities while racing in a NASCAR simulator.
