Michael Waltrip Racing | Waltrip reveals 2010 schedule Thu, 21 Jan 2010 10:01:22 -0800 Bob Pockrass, of SceneDaily.com, reports Michael Waltrip Racing driver Michael Waltrip announced Wednesday, Jan. 20, that he will only race in the Budweiser Shootout and Daytona 500 during the 2010 Sprint Cup season. "I'm comfortable with that," Waltrip said. "I talked to Billy Ballew about running some (Camping World) Truck (Series) races. I definitely am going to run a couple of those. When I think about going to Daytona, I get excited because I know I know how to win that race. When I think about (the next Cup races at) California and (Las) Vegas, I just haven't performed at a level that makes me say, 'I'm going to go out there and (win).'" Driver Martin Truex Jr. will replace Waltrip as the full-time driver with Pat Tryson serving as the crew chief. Truex will be driving the No. 56 car this season, while Waltrip will drive the No. 51 car.
