"As a racecar driver, the hardest thing to do is to sit on the sidelines listening to cars on the track when you know you should be out there competing. For this, I have no one to blame but myself." Driver Michael McDowell replaced Busch in the Cup race Sunday, Nov. 6, and finished 33rd, dropping Busch to 11th in the Chase standings. At 100 points back of the leader, Busch has officially been eliminated.

Busch is fifth in the standings and now trails Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards for the lead by 31 points.
