Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kurt Busch competed in the Indianapolis 500 in the IndyCar Series in May. He was sixth in that race, but hasn't finished in the Top 10 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Sprint Cup Series since 2003. "I have a greater appreciation for the speedway, and I hope the respect I show it this weekend will help me bounce up on some of my results here at the track," Busch said Friday, July 25. "It's been tough in a stock car here for me."
Fantasy Tip: Busch traditionally hasn't fared very well at the track, and there are better fantasy options such as Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart.

Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kurt Busch posted the second fastest lap time in practice Saturday, June 7, at Pocono Raceway at 175.545 mph, while teammate and owner Tony Stewart was fourth-fastest at 175.370 mph. Even Danica Patrick was fast, posting the 11th-fastest lap speed at 174.206 mph.
Fantasy Tip: The SHR cars looked fast Saturday, and might be each be fantastic fantasy options. Harvick has never won at Pocono in his career, but he does have tremendous 14.1 Average Finish Position in 26 career starts at the Tricky Triangle. Busch has two wins at Long Pond, and he has managed 16 Top 20 finishes in 25 career starts.

Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kurt Busch made it to the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday, May 25, well in time for the start of the race after running in the 98th annual Indianapolis 500 earlier in the day. He finished sixth at Indy, and was attempting to race 1,100 miles in a single day. He was forced out of the Coca-Cola 600 earlier after blowing an engine on Lap 271 of 400. "Those things happen in motorsports. It was a good battle, though. I was hoping to do 1,100 miles today. I can't let what happened here dampen the mood of what happened up in Indianapolis," Busch said.

Chip Ganassi Racing has had preliminary discussions with Furniture Row Racing driver Kurt Busch about driving in the Indianapolis 500 this year. "I've talked to him," team president Steve Lauletta said. "I don't know if it's going to work for us. We haven't gotten to a point where we know if we can run a fifth car for the Indy 500. If we did that, then we'd be able to have a more detailed conversation. But we haven't made that decision yet." Busch's first choice is to partner with Andretti Autosport because he tested with them last year.

Updating a previous report, Furniture Row Racing driver Kurt Busch said his chances are at "70 percent" that he will race in the Indianapolis 500 this year. "It's actually grabbed better traction the last couple of weeks, it's gotten me more excited," Busch said. "The teams that are showing interest, the sponsors and the opportunity is there. Busch is ninth in the Cup standings, and FRR has never qualified for the Chase or finished better than 24th in the standings. Busch finished third in the Pure Michigan 400 this past weekend.

Phoenix Racing plans to have driver Regan Smith driver in the Daytona 500 this year and they will have Smith and driver A.J. Allmendinger share duties in the Sprint Cup Series. Driver Kurt Busch is hoping to drive for the team in the Nationwide Series. Smith will drive at Daytona and possibly seven to 10 Cup races throughout the season. Allmendinger's first race is expected to be at Phoenix.
