Hendrick Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne picked up his first career victory in 19 starts at Bristol Motor Speedway Sunday at the Food City 500 Sunday, March 17. "We've been trying for a long time. To pull it off, I feel is a big accomplishment for our guys and myself. There are so many things that are thrown at you when you come to this place. We'd been fast here other times and not able to finish the deal."

JR Motorsports announced Thursday, Jan. 3, that drivers Kasey Kahne and Brad Sweet will split duties in a second full-time Nationwide Series car in 2013. Great Clips will sponsor the ride for 28 races, including 27 among Kahne and Sweet and one for driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Driver Regan Smith will move to the No. 7 car and Earnhardt will drive the No. 88 car in a select number of events.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne (knees) said his knees are doing really well after having multiple surgeries on them in the offseason. "My right knee is perfect. It feels great. It's the best it's felt in two years and my left knee is not there yet, but it's on its way." Kahne said his left knee swelled up earlier in the season, but it's not a problem now.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne will be forced to use a backup car in the Gatorade Duels for the Daytona 500 after his car crashed during practice Wednesday, Feb. 22. The crash will cost him 14 positions in the second Gatorade Duel Thursday, Feb. 23.

Updating a previous report, Hendrick Motorsports driver Kasey Kahne (knee) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee after an MRI exam revealed a torn meniscus. He is expected to be ready to race in the Budweiser Shootout Feb. 18 and the Daytona 500 Feb. 26. There are no plans to have a backup driver at Daytona.
