Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing driver Juan Pablo Montoya's (foot) bruised left foot was sore but ready to go in the Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway last weekend. Montoya crashed into a jet dryer in the Daytona 500 the previous week.

Under a caution flag on Lap 160 of the Daytona 500, Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing driver Juan Pablo Montoya's car spun out of control and hit the jet dryer that was cleaning up debris on the track, causing a large fire that was eventually put out by safety personnel. Montoya, who walked out of the car after the wreck, was released from the infield care center. The jet dryer driver was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The race is under red flag as the track crew works to clean up the mess.

Hendrick Motorsports engineer Chris Heroy will leave the team to join Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing as driver Juan Pablo Montoya's new crew chief for the 2012 Sprint Cup season. Crew chief Jim Pohlman will remain with the team.
