Wed, 19 Mar 2008 15:50:12 -0700 NASCAR.com reports Lowe's Motor Speedway is offering a special two-day ticket package for $44 to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series All-Star race May 17, which will be Michael Waltrip Racing driver Dale Jarrett's last race as a professional NASCAR driver. Jarrett showcased the No. 44 UPS Toyota Camry that he will drive in the All-Star race that features a special paint scheme paying tribute to Jarrett and his accomplishments as a driver. He is also going to race the "truck" after pre-race introductions. Jarrett will drive the UPS race truck from the UPS commercial and drive a lucky fan around the 1.5-mile racetrack. Jarrett calls Lowe's his home track and is excited about having his last professional race there. "This is obviously going to be a big weekend for me, my family and everyone at UPS," Jarrett said. "The opportunity for my last race to be at what I consider my home track is something I appreciate and look forward to."

Jarrett started his career at Lowe's and almost ended his career after crashing and shattering his ankle on impact. He will be inducted into the track's court of legends along with his father Ned Jarrett. Jarrett said he would like to win the non-points race, something he has yet to do in his career.

Stewart commented after the Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway by saying the tires were the worst that he has ever raced on in his career and that Goodyear needs to develop a new tire or NASCAR should find someone else to sponsor tires. Jarrett said he is a big supporter of Goodyear and has been over the years but thinks that somebody needs to listen to Stewart and the other drivers because they rarely complain about anything.

Jarrett will have to qualify during the Gatorade Duels Thursday, Feb. 14, to earn his spot in the 50th edition of the "Great American Race". He said anyone that makes the race has a chance to win it. "Everybody that gets in the race has a chance to win -- it's such a wild-card race," Jarrett said.
