Jaguars.com reports Jacksonville Jaguars backup C Kevin Long (knee) had to be carted off the field during Monday morning’s practice with what is believed to be a sprained MCL. OG Brad Meester is certain to get more time at center now, and as a result, OT Mike Pearson should see an increased role at left tackle.

ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli reports the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed C Kevin Long to a one-year contract worth $525,000. Long will only count $450,000 against the salary cap because of a new rule giving a cap break to teams signing veterans to minimum-salary deals. The deal does not include a signing bonus.

The Florida Times-Union reports the Jacksonville Jaguars wasted no time spending their new found salary cap money Monday. The Jaguars reached a verbal agreement with free agent backup OT Daryl Terrell (Saints) and appeared to be close to a deal with free agent backup C Kevin Long (Titans). The deal with Terrell will be oficially a two-year, $2 million deal, although it's more like a one-year deal with a $25,000 signing bonus and a $450,000 base salary.

The Tennessean reports free agent C/long snapper Aaron Graham is expected to sign his one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans Sunday. He is expected to take over the snapping duties on field goals and punts. His signing probably spells the end to C Kevin Long's career with the Titans. "We have been talking about Kevin and I don't know, it's just a hard situation," GM Floyd Reese said. "It is difficult because Kevin has been so good to us and I am sure he is wondering what the heck is going on."

The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans S Daryl Porter banged knees with a teammate late in yesterday's practice, but coach Jeff Fisher said he'll be fine for Sunday. C Kevin Long (knee) has made significant progress and he has worked extensively at center with the first team offense. CB Donald Mitchell (knee) did not practice. OL Bruce Matthews (groin) participated in practice yesterday and is expected to play tomorrow although it may be on a limited basis.

The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans CB Donald Mitchell (knee) didn't practice on Thursday and isn't expected to play this weekend. G Zach Piller (wrist) has continued to practice but is still bothered by a sore wrist. The team hasn't decided who will start at center this weekend. C Kevin Long (knee) may be able to play, but the team will make a game-time decision between him and Gennaro DiNapoli.

CB Samari Rolle (sprained foot) was able to run today and he expects to play this weekend. C Kevin Long (knee), CB Donald Mitchell (knee) and DB Daryl Porter (knee) are making progress but their playing status won't be determined until around game time according to head coach Jeff Fisher.

Jeff Legwold, of the Nashville Tennessean, reports for the Sporting News, that Tennessee Titans C Kevin Long (knee sprain) will be examined Monday, but head coach Jeff Fisher said a preliminary exam showed Long could miss 2-4 weeks, which means he may miss the remainder of the season.

Paul Kuharsky reports for the Tennessean that Tennessee Titans S Blaine Bishop has decided to restructure his deal with the team to save them room under the salary cap. In other news, the team tendered G Benji Olson a one-year, $1.15 million offer that would cost another team a first-round pick if they signed him. C Kevin Long was tendered a one-year, $512,000 deal and would only cost a seventh-round pick as compensation.

The Tennessean reports the Tennessee Titans didn't talk with WR Derrick Mason's agent, Lamont Smith, on Wednesday but GM Floyd Reese hopes to talk to him first thing this morning. The two sides have been talking about a five-year deal that would take Mason out of the free agent category. In other news, OG Benji Olson and C Kevin Long may be given second-level ($1.115 million) tenders today. Reese stated DT Josh Evans has applied to the league for reinstatement following substance abuse problems.
