St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said rookie DT Michael Brockers, the team's first-round selection, is explosive and instinctive. Fisher said it was important for the team to add a player like Brockers in their division, which features some downhill runners. "One person I know that's smiling right now is (LB) James Laurinaitis," Fisher said.

Brockers will likely start inside next to free-agent additional Kendall Langford. Fisher said Brockers is "NFL ready" and not a project for the team.
