Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis said he does not know what his role will be at this point but is willing to accept any role the team gives him. "You've got to have an open mind. That's what I'm going to do, and whatever role they're going to give me, I'm going to try to be good at it and try to succeed," Hillis said. Hillis could see time at fullback this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs planned to target RB Peyton Hillis when the free-agent market opened, according to general manager Scott Pioli. "One of our goals going into free agency this year was to build depth at the running back position and we are pleased to add a talented player like Peyton to the mix," Pioli added. Head coach Romeo Crennel said Hillis is a "big, strong, physical back with a lot of talent and he should fit into our system well. We are looking forward to working with him and adding him into our offense."

Cleveland Browns impending free-agent RB Peyton Hillis said his contract demands are not outrageous; however, he wants a deal that's fair. "I wasn't asking for $7 million a year. At one point, the Browns offered $25 million or $26 million over four or five years, but it was only about $1.2 million a year in the first three years," Hillis said. "Then it was backloaded with a large amount that wasn't guaranteed. It wasn't the money, it's just how it was structured."
