He went 1-for-4 with a strikeout after tying a career-high with four hits in the opener Monday, April 1. "It'll be hard to take him out of there if he keeps playing that way," Gibson said. "He's worked hard and here he is today. He had a great game for us (Monday)." OF A.J. Pollock is another option at the top of the lineup.

Parra mainly played center field in winter ball and he plans on playing for Venezuela in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. Fantasy Tip: Gibson said he would like to give OFs Adam Eaton, Jason Kubel, Cody Ross and Parra each around 400-500 at-bats. Parra can be a useful NL-only fantasy option, and a decent addition in deeper mixed formats if he is able to force his way into the lineup. Monitor his performance, and that of the others, during the spring.

Ziegler has been eligible for arbitration the past two seasons, and last year avoided a hearing when he and the Diamondbacks settled on a one-year deal worth $1.795 million.

General manager Walt Jocketty hopes to have something finalized before Thursday, Dec. 6. The Reds are talking to the Arizona Diamondbacks about OFs Justin Upton, Jason Kubel and Gerardo Parra in case they don't work something out with Ludwick. Cincy was never in on Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino. The Reds could also look at free-agent OF Cody Ross (Red Sox) if they don't re-sign Ludwick.
