Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said Friday, Feb. 15, that OF Gerardo Parra has a chance to earn his way into the Opening day lineup based on his performance this spring. Parra mainly played center field in winter ball and he plans on playing for Venezuela in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
Fantasy Tip: Gibson said he would like to give OFs Adam Eaton, Jason Kubel, Cody Ross and Parra each around 400-500 at-bats. Parra can be a useful NL-only fantasy option, and a decent addition in deeper mixed formats if he is able to force his way into the lineup. Monitor his performance, and that of the others, during the spring.
