Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Dick Jauron said Thursday, Nov. 17, that he was pleased with the play of DL Emmanuel Stephens, who started his first NFL game in Week 10 in place of injured DL Jayme Mitchell (ankle, chest). "He had a really good game," Jauron said. "He plays really hard. I really like this young man a lot. He kind of fits in with (DL Ahtyba Rubin) for sure. They don't say a whole lot, but they both play awfully hard. That's a refreshing thing."

Cleveland Browns DL Jabaal Sheard and Phil Taylor made their presence felt in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, and DL Ahtyba Rubin and Jayme Mitchell were also disruptive. "You can't do anything offensively or defensively unless your lines hold the point and dominate," head coach Pat Shurmur said. "I think those guys are getting to the point where they are playing well as a unit and then you are seeing them be able to make some plays on their own."

Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini said he has been impressed with how DL Ahtyba Rubin has played so far this season, reports Mary Kay Cabot, of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. "There's a range of emotions that you go through. Then you watch a guy like Rubin, and his effort throughout the course of that game from start to finish was just impressive," Mangini said. Rubin ranks second on the team with 51 tackles and is the most among defensive linemen and linebackers.
