Minnesota Vikings TE John Carlson (knee) struggled to get involved in the passing game in his first season in Minnesota, and that is supposed to be his strength. He received $7.9 million in the first year of his deal (including deferred payments) and would have $1.2 million of his $2.9 million base salary for 2013 fully guaranteed if he's on the roster when the league year begins. The team might give him another chance if he is healthy, but nothing is certain after a disappointing 2012 season.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said he will wait and see how TE John Carlson (concussion) looks in practice this week before determining his role in Week 10. "Coming off a concussion, there are some things we need to see as the week goes on. But we're hoping he'll be a factor in this game," Frazier said. "We need him. We need all the weapons we can get in a game like this."
