However, Johnson's possible comeback did not come up in a conversation with Miami Dolphins director of football operations Bill Parcells last month.

Johnson said he remains in contact with Parcells, who is now in the front office for the Dolphins, about whether or not to return to football, but Parcells has not asked Johnson to play for him in Miami.

"I feel like [the guys we have] are going to be alright, it's just everyone else that is doubting them. That's the good part about it. It keeps motivating those guys to show that they can do this or that. We don't need [Keyshawn Johnson] to come in to make us better. The young guys are going good. I'm proud of them," Young said.

Johnson told head coach Jeff Fisher he was "very close" to signing with the Titans but decided to retire.
