Dolphins | No contract for Arian Foster, Miami

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 14:37:18 -0700

Free-agent RB Arian Foster (Texans) left his visit with the Miami Dolphins without a contract.

Fantasy Tip: It has already been stated that Foster will not sign with anyone until he is fully healthy, so this should come as no surprise. Foster could still sign with the Dolphins once he deems himself to be at full health, but for now, it's a waiting game. As far as fantasy value, Foster is no longer a featured back and will be part of a committee wherever he goes. He's a decent-sized risk, too, with his injury history. He should not be viewed as more than a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3.

NFL | Arian Foster won't sign until healthy

Mon, 28 Mar 2016 13:18:14 -0700

Free-agent RB Arian Foster (Texans) wants to be completely healthy before he signs with anyone, which could be in late May or in June.

Fantasy Tip: Foster visited the Dolphins on Monday, but don't expect him to sign with them right away. Miami is in need of another running back after losing Lamar Miller and missing out on C.J. Anderson. Jay Ajayi is the main running back for now. He has RB2 potential as of now, but that potential will likely go down if/when the Dolphins add another running back.

Dolphins | Arian Foster visiting Miami

Mon, 28 Mar 2016 08:11:27 -0700

Free-agent RB Arian Foster (Texans) will visit the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, March 29. Foster, who is rehabbing from a torn Achilles', should be far enough in his rehab to pass a physical.

Fantasy Tip: Foster could still be worth a RB3 selection if he's healthy.

Dolphins | Miami open to trading for RB

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 12:00:47 -0700

The Miami Dolphins are exploring trade options for a running back to pair with RB Jay Ajayi, and they've had conversations with multiple teams, according to a league source at the NFL annual meetings this week. There are no specific names of running backs the Dolphins have asked about, though, and no trade appears imminent. A veteran player like free-agent RB Arian Foster (Texans) hasn't been ruled out, either.

Fantasy Tip: The new Miami coaching regime likes Ajayi, but they have their doubts that he can hold up to a full-time role in the backfield, and with good reason. In nine games last year he had 49 carries for 187 yards (3.8 average) and one touchdown. Depending on how Miami splits the carries, Ajayi could have low-end RB2 ability in this offense.

Texans | Arian Foster still passionate

Sun, 20 Mar 2016 10:40:56 -0700

Former Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (Achilles') still has a passion for football and is still motivated to play, despite the rigorous process of rehabilitating his ruptured Achilles' tendon, according to his brother, Abdul Foster.

Fantasy Tip: Foster seems determined to return to the gridiron. This recent injury and his extensive injury history could make teams hesitant to take a chance on him, though. Wherever he plays, he probably won't be the featured back anymore, so don't draft him as a RB1.

NFL | Arian Foster training twice a day

Sun, 20 Mar 2016 06:39:42 -0700

Free-agent RB Arian Foster (Achillies') is training twice a day at IX Innovations, an elite fitness and training facility in Southwest Houston. He is motivated and doing great, according to Abdul Foster, the running back's older brother, trainer and owner of IX Innovations.

Fantasy Tip: With so much uncertainty surrounding Foster's fantasy stock, it is important to focus on the known. He is entering his age-30 season, hasn't played a full campaign since 2012 and is likely to split carries in a backfield committee. His name value will likely make him too costly in the majority of drafts and auctions entering the 2016 season.

NFL | Arian Foster in no rush to sign

Fri, 11 Mar 2016 15:05:54 -0800

Free-agent RB Arian Foster (Achillies') plans to be patient in regards to choosing his next employer, according to a source. Foster suffered a torn Achilles' tendon last season but is expected to be back to 100% this summer.

Fantasy Tip: The injury-prone Foster will turn 30 over the summer and would probably prefer to be as healthy as possible before shopping his services. One team that makes a lot of sense is the Denver Broncos, who could lose restricted free agent C.J. Anderson to the Miami Dolphins. Just as importantly, the Broncos' head coach is Gary Kubiak, whose offensive system Foster flourished in during most of their five seasons together in Houston.

NFL | Other options for Arian Foster

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 16:33:36 -0800

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Arian Foster (Texans) may draw interest from the Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots and/or Atlanta Falcons, in the opinion of's Gregg Rosenthal.

Fantasy Tip: Wherever he ends up, Foster is over the hill from a football perspective and should no longer be viewed as a RB1. He has an extensive injury history, he hasn't played a full season since 2012 and he would probably be part of a backfield committee.

NFL | Arian Foster will have suitors

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 11:12:10 -0800

Free-agent RB Arian Foster (Achilles') started jogging last month and is expected to be ready in time for training camp, as he's ahead of schedule in his rehab from a torn Achilles'. The Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks are teams that would make sense to pursue Foster in free agency.

Fantasy Tip: Foster, who will be in his age-30 season in 2016, will no longer be an RB1 for fantasy owners. Wherever he lands next he'll likely share backfield duties as a pass-catcher, but he could be a solid RB3 in the right situation. Denver is intriguing because of Foster's familiarity with Gary Kubiak and the zone-blocking scheme, but will the Broncos be able to afford him?

Texans | Arian Foster officially released

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 09:52:26 -0800

Updating an earlier report, Houston Texans RB Arian Foster was officially released Thursday, March 3, the team announced. A source that has seen Foster (Achilles') rehab said that Foster is healthy enough to sign with a team right now, but he could wait until June so teams can see him run at full speed before he signs.

Fantasy Tip: Where Foster lands and what his role will be are the determining factors for his fantasy value. He could still be an RB3 or higher in fantasy.
