Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco clearly expressed that he's not a fan of the team running the wildcat formation. Flacco was lined up out wide for a few plays during the team's Week 12 win over the New York Jets. "I don't like that stuff. I think it makes you look like a high school offense. That's my opinion," Flacco said. He doesn't expect the team to use the wildcat for the rest of the year.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is not blaming his offensive line after QB Joe Flacco was sacked a season-high five times against the Cleveland Browns in their Week 9 loss. "I feel like our offensive line blocked a lot better than the result might have shown in terms of number of yards," Harbaugh said. "When you watch the tape, there are a lot of really good blocks going on there." Harbaugh also suggested that Flacco needs to do a better job of getting rid of the ball sooner.

The Baltimore Ravens changed up their offensive scheme, with QB Joe Flacco running more plays from the shotgun and spread formations in Week 7. "We wanted to do a little of that and see if we could keep them on the field and run them around a little bit," Flacco said. The Ravens also ran the no huddle offense. These moves opened up the running game, and the team was able to establish the run with more success. RB Ray Rice had 15 carries for 45 yards and RB Bernard Pierce had six carries for 13 yards. The Ravens averaged 3.2 yards per carry.

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has been developing a solid chemistry with WR Brandon Stokley, who caught three passes for 43 yards in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 22. "You can't really be a good receiver without having a very good quarterback. To have an elite quarterback like Joe, it makes my job easier. We've just been working hard the last week and a half trying to get our timing down," Stokley said.
Fantasy Tip: It appears like Stokley is on his way to making the final roster and having a solid role in the offense this season. Stokley is probably not a target for owners in their drafts but could be a waiver wire option at some point during the season.

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco praised the team's new look defense, and believes they can be dominant in 2013. "I tell you what, our defense looks really good," Flacco said. "The front seven, those guys look like they're going to be dominant. Our secondary, you can argue that it's better than it's ever been. ... I think we have a pretty special group and I think it's going to be exciting to watch those guys go after it this year."
Wed, 07 Aug 2013 09:02:34 -0700
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is confident the team will overcome the offseason departure of WR Anquan Boldin, and loss of TE Dennis Pitta (hip) to injury. WR Jacoby Jones is expected to see plenty of opportunity on the outside with WR Torrey Smith, and Flacco mentioned WRs Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson as candidates who could step up on the inside. "I think the one thing that Deonte gives you that you normally don't have in the middle is that speed," Flacco said. "Normally, those guys are on the outside. He gives you that speed in there. Tandon is that real strong-handed guy that can go up and make some catches for you. He's got a good feel for how to run the routes in there."
Mon, 01 Jul 2013 16:53:46 -0700
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco got praise for his mechanics from former offensive coordinator Cam Cameron. "Joe was very well schooled on how to throw the football. He came in with great mechanics. He came in with natural arm strength and endurance," Cameron said. "But I would say to give the credit to Joe himself. Joe knows what he is doing when it comes to his arm. I've never seen him ice his arm. I never saw it sore. I've seen him tired maybe once."
Thu, 20 Jun 2013 09:35:01 -0700
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has kept up his strong connection with TE Dennis Pitta during mandatory minicamp. Throwing the ball to Pitta looks like Flacco's default read in the passing game.
Fantasy Tip: Opponents started noticing this last season, and Pitta's numbers suffered. Anquan Boldin's departure and Pitta's ability to line up in the slot should sustain his target numbers, but he's still more of a midrange or low-end TE1 than he is an elite option.

Mon, 27 May 2013 16:18:04 -0700
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh praised QB Joe Flacco as being a great leader, and that LB Ray Lewis retiring is not going to change who Flacco is. "Joe has been a great leader," Harbaugh said. "Joe has done a great job throughout his career in his own way. One thing about Joe: Nothing is going to change Joe. Joe is going to be who he is.
"I don't think a change in the roster is going to change Joe, who he is. A change in the contract isn't going to change Joe. Joe is Joe, and that's what you love about him."
Fri, 24 May 2013 11:16:09 -0700
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he feels good about having four of the five offensive linemen returning from the super bowl team in 2013. "Yeah, it does," Flacco said when asked if he feels good about the pass blocking with McKinnie back. "I think every year we've been here, we've juggled the offensive line around a pretty good amount. And at some point or another during the middle of the season or come playoff time or all through preseason and at the beginning of the season, we've switched something or just made our starting line.
"So, I think the fact that we have a pretty good feel about who is going to be up there is definitely good for me, and the fact that they played so well together last year at the end of the season is definitely a big confidence booster."
Fri, 24 May 2013 11:13:48 -0700
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco praised his young wide receiving core of Tandon Doss, Deonte Thompson and David Reed. "I haven't heard too much about all that, but I'm excited about who we have," Flacco said. "I like the idea of having guys that we've had, we've drafted here or we've picked up here, and grooming them and getting those guys to become great wide receivers. They definitely have the talent to do it. I think we just need to get them some reps. And when I say reps, I mean game time reps, so their confidence can take off."
Mon, 13 May 2013 16:59:42 -0700
Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice wants to become a bigger receiving threat out of the backfield in 2013. "Now that guys know that I'm a threat out of the backfield, I got to use my hands a little more," Rice said. "I get pushed a lot coming out of the backfield, and that's a sign of respect, but if I can get my hands and get out on pass routes and continue to get open for Joe Flacco."
Fantasy Tip: Rice, one of the premier running backs in the NFL, caught 61 passes for 478 yards and one touchdown in 2012. If he can improve on those numbers, his fantasy football value will continue to increase, especially in PPR leagues.

"It's yet another comparable and data point for Matt Ryan," said Andrew Brandt, ESPN's NFL business analyst and former chief negotiator for the Green Bay Packers. "The gold standard was Drew Brees, at least on the average at $20 million (per season). Now, you have $20.1 million. It's certainly a place they could look at as the freshest data point."
