Ravens | Joe Flacco will miss workouts

Mon, 23 May 2016 17:16:13 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) will miss all of the organized team activities this offseason because he is still recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Flacco said he has made big improvements in his recovery, and head coach John Harbaugh said Flacco should be ready for training camp. QB Ryan Mallett will work with the first-team offense during the workouts.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco still has a few months to recover from his injury if he wants to be ready for camp. He threw 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions before suffering the injury in 2015 but did throw at least 20 touchdowns in five of his previous six seasons. Flacco probably should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco hasn't been throwing

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 09:23:21 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) said he hasn't done much throwing this offseason and has been limited to 15-yard tosses. Flacco acknowledged that he'll need to start throwing soon. He said he has resumed running, though.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco should have more weapons at his disposal in the passing game this year, but coming off a serious knee injury, he's even riskier than ever, and Flacco has never had a high fantasy ceiling at quarterback. He should be considered a fantasy backup, at best.

Ravens | Joe Flacco improving each week

Sun, 03 Apr 2016 12:33:13 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) said he's getting better and better each week as he recovers in his rehabilitation form a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Flacco said he believes he's on track for training camp, but he hasn't been given a timetable for a return.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco may be full go by the start of training camp and by the start of the regular season, but he's not close to being a starting fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | Mike Wallace should have 'big role'

Sat, 02 Apr 2016 14:24:27 -0700

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace is expected to have a big role in his team's offense in 2016, according to QB Joe Flacco, who added he was excited about the team's offseason additions.

Fantasy Tip: Wallace is 29 and one year removed from a 67-catch, 10-touchdown season with the Miami Dolphins, so it's not asking the world for him to bounce back in a vertical offense led by Flacco and his big arm. Wallace is a fair bet to approach his 2014 numbers in this offense and should be a value pick as a WR3 this summer.

Ravens | Joe Flacco is on schedule

Tue, 22 Mar 2016 11:39:52 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) is right on schedule to be ready for training camp, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Although, Harbaugh did say that the Ravens will see how he feels as the summer approaches.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has a nice arsenal of weapons at his disposal for next season, not to mention a new deal and a reinvigorated knee. Even with all the positive signs, Flacco should still be viewed as a backup fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | Joe Flacco confident in knee

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 12:07:31 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) said his rehabilitation from knee surgery is going well. He believes he'll be stronger than ever next season. Flacco underwent surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament in early December.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco will be playing with a new deal and a new knee in 2016, not to mention the return of his go-to wide receiver, Steve Smith. Things are looking up for Flacco, but he still hasn't proved to be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback over the course of his career, so don't draft him as such.

Ravens | Joe Flacco deal loaded

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 10:09:31 -0800

Updating an earlier report, Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco received $66.4 million in new money in his contract extension. The $22.1 million average per year set a record for annual new money, and he'll average just under $21 million per year through the life of the deal.

Flacco will have base salaries of $4 million, $6 million and $12 million the next three years. His 2016 cap number reduces from $28.6 million to $22.6 million. It projects to reduce in 2017 from $31.5 million to $24 million and around $25 million in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco doesn't have a lot to work with on offense, and he's in that QB2 window that could become a low-end QB1 with the right additions around him.

Ravens | Joe Flacco agrees to extension

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 07:58:18 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco agreed to a three-year extension Wednesday, March 2, through the 2021 season.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco's supporting cast is pretty questionable right now, and he's a low-end QB1 option that may slip into QB2 territory.

Ravens | Joe Flacco, Baltimore closing on new deal

Sat, 27 Feb 2016 14:15:57 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco and the team are reportedly "close" to agreeing to a new long-term contract.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco's cap number for 2016 is $28.55 million and his cap number for 2017 is $31.15 million, so a deal almost has to get done if Baltimore has any designs of being a player in free agency. Flacco figures to remain a fantasy backup in 2016 but could have an underrated receiving corps if Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman can stay healthy this year and Kamar Aiken can build upon his breakout 2015 campaign.

Ravens | Joe Flacco making progress on deal

Fri, 26 Feb 2016 11:52:30 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco and the Ravens are making progress in talks for a contract extension, but no deal is imminent.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco will get Steve Smith back in the passing game, and promising youngster and deep threat Breshad Perriman should finally make an impact. But Baltimore's receiving corps still leaves a lot to be desired, and Flacco is nothing more than a fantasy backup.

NFL | Ravens are long in the tooth

Thu, 25 Feb 2016 15:46:05 -0800

The Baltimore Ravens and QB Joe Flacco are the oldest team in the NFL entering the 2016 season, with an average age of 26.07 years old. The Philadelphia Eagles (25.98), Cleveland Browns (25.84), New England Patriots (25.68) and Atlanta Falcons (25.68) round out the bottom of the league in that category.

Ravens | Joe Flacco's agent to meet with Ravens

Wed, 24 Feb 2016 16:23:57 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco's agent will meet with the Ravens during the NFL Combine to work on a contract extension. General manager Ozzie Newsome said the Ravens can be very active in free agency without having to get a deal done with Flacco.

Fantasy Tip: The main purpose of a new deal will be to fix Flacco's salary cap number, which is set to jump to $28.5 million this upcoming season. Deal or no deal, though, Flacco should not be considered more than a backup fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | Joe Flacco's agent to meet with Ravens

Mon, 22 Feb 2016 13:11:36 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco's agent will meet with the Ravens this weekend at the NFL combine to discuss a possible restructured deal. If Flacco's contract is restructured it would give Baltimore some breathing room on figuring out how to manage nearly $85 million in cap space from now until 2018.

Fantasy Tip: It wasn't long ago that Flacco signed a hefty six-year extension, but the Ravens salary cap is going to be even uglier in the immediate future if his contract isn't restructured. Also for the immediate and foreseeable future, Flacco remains a backup fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | New contract for Joe Flacco soon?

Sat, 20 Feb 2016 11:17:27 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco could restructure his contract before the start of free agency, according to ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley. Flacco has already said he would be willing to do so to give the Ravens more salary cap space. Hensley said the key for restructuring will be to give Flacco more money over the next three years than what he would earn in his current deal.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has been one of the more underwhelming starting quarterbacks during his NFL tenure. He has shown glimpses of deserving starting fantasy quarterback status, but he may always and forever be a backup fantasy quarterback only worth starting in really good matchups or as a bye-week replacement.

Ravens | Joe Flacco's rehab going well

Thu, 21 Jan 2016 09:21:32 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) is six weeks removed from surgery to fix two torn knee ligaments, and he said his rehab is "going really well." He's confident that he'll be fully recovered by the start of the regular season in September. "I'm coming along great," Flacco said. "I don't think there is any way I'm not going out there ready to go right away. Don't quote me. But that's just me. I have no timetable. I'm really taking it day by day and getting better and better each week."

Fantasy Tip: After missing a full season for the first time in his career, fantasy owners will be even more down on Flacco than ever before. He doesn't have much to work with in the passing game, either, so his ceiling remains very limited. Continue to consider him a veteran backup for fantasy purposes.

Ravens | Joe Flacco willing to restructure

Thu, 21 Jan 2016 09:19:19 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he's motivated to restructure his contract this offseason in order to help the team gain extra salary cap space for free agency. Flacco's cap number moves to $28.55 million in 2016, which ranks third in the NFL. He'll make $18 million next year even if he doesn't agree to restructure.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco missed a full season for the first time in his career because of his knee injury. As a result, his numbers were obviously down. He's always been more productive as a real-life quarterback than a fantasy one. Flacco will have Steve Smith returning next year, but you have to wonder who else will step up to help the passing game. He's squarely a backup QB for fantasy purposes.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has big cap hit

Fri, 08 Jan 2016 17:11:16 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is scheduled to count $28.55 million against the salary cap in 2016. General manager Ozzie Newsome said he believes the team may not have to restructure Flacco's contract this offseason in order to fill the roster.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco likely will be with the team next season but there is a good chance that the team tries to reduce his salary cap hit. He likely will miss most or all of the offseason workouts because of his torn anterior cruciate ligament but should be ready for the regular season. Flacco could be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco returns to facility

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 12:54:45 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) returned to the team facility Wednesday, Dec. 16, but his knee remains swollen after undergoing surgery last week.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco won't return this year, but he should be recovered in time for the offseason next year. For now, avoid any quarterback who starts for the Ravens.

Ravens | Joe Flacco done with surgery

Tue, 08 Dec 2015 15:32:04 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) is out of surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament Tuesday, Dec. 8. He will rehabilitate in Florida with Dr. James Andrews for a week or so.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has plenty of time to rehab, recover and be ready for offseason activities next year. In the meantime, Matt Schaub should continue to disappoint in his stead. Schaub ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) is far from an advisable FantasyScore play this week against the Seattle Seahawks.

Ravens | Joe Flacco to have surgery

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 13:33:17 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) will undergo surgery on his torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament Tuesday, Dec. 8, with Dr. James Andrews.

Fantasy Tip: Matt Schaub is expected to continue to start with Flacco done for the season, but Schaub's value is minimal and he shouldn't be seriously considered as a starting fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | Joe Flacco placed on IR

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 13:26:34 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 24, with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn medial collateral ligament. Free-agent QB Jimmy Clausen (Bears) was subsequently claimed.

Fantasy Tip: Matt "Pick Six" Schaub will start with Flacco out, and Flacco is expected to recover in time for the 2016 season. As for Schaub, he shouldn't be regarded as a starting fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | Joe Flacco may be ready for 2016

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 10:22:40 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) appears to have a good chance to be ready for the start of the 2016 season, according to doctors.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco likely will not participate in any of the offseason workouts, so owners will need to monitor his rehab. Flacco could be a No. 2 quarterback for fantasy teams in 2016 if he is healthy. Matt Schaub will take his place for the rest of this season but is not a great fantasy option.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has extensive knee damage

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 09:06:31 -0800

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) said he tore the anterior and medial collateral ligaments in his knee in Week 11, although he has yet to have an MRI exam. Flacco is expected to miss the rest of the year, and it'll be the first time he has missed a game since being drafted in 2008. Flacco had started 122 straight games, which was the fifth-longest streak in NFL history. QB Matt Schaub will finish the season as the starter.

Fantasy Tip: You can obviously cut Flacco in any deep redraft leagues at this point. Injuries have decimated Baltimore's skill players this year, leaving nothing intriguing for fantasy players left with Schaub at the helm now and Justin Forsett (broken arm) also out for the year.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has torn ACL

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 13:15:52 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the team's Week 11 game and will miss the rest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Matt Schaub should be the new starting quarterback with Flacco out for the season. Schaub has thrown two interceptions in limited playing time this season and probably should be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco utilizing his tight ends

Thu, 19 Nov 2015 18:41:50 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco completed 7 of 11 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown when two or more tight ends were on the field against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10, and he completed all five of his pass attempts with three tight ends on the field.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens will be facing a tougher test in Week 11 when they take on the St. Louis Rams, and unless Crockett Gillmore ($4,400, 8.8% of cap), Maxx Williams ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) or Nick Boyle ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) can emerge as the go-to option among Baltimore's tight ends, all three will remain roll-of-the-dice plays at FantasyScore.

Ravens | Turnovers harm Joe Flacco

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 14:42:01 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday, Nov. 15, but he also threw two interceptions and lost a fumble in the third quarter of a 22-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has seen his fantasy value sink this season as the Ravens dropped to 2-7 overall. This is his third 300-yard game in the last four contests, but turnovers will hurt his overall FantasyScore performance. Steer clear, especially with a ticked-off St. Louis Rams defense coming up in Week 11.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has delivered at home

Sat, 14 Nov 2015 18:13:14 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco faces the Jacksonville Jaguars at home in Week 10, and Flacco has accounted for multiple touchdowns in all three home games this year and has topped 300 passing yards twice.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) draws a friendly matchup against a Jacksonville defense ranked 25th in passing yards allowed, and if you are looking for a cheaper option at the position at FantasyScore, Flacco should be on the short list.

Ravens | Joe Flacco faces banged up secondary

Wed, 28 Oct 2015 19:28:25 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco will face the San Diego Chargers in Week 8, a team which is unlikely to have SS Eric Weddle (groin). They also have four other key defenders on the injury report this week.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) will face a Chargers pass defense which ranks ninth in the NFL by allowing just 230.4 yards per game, but that is deceiving. Of the Top 14 pass defenses by yardage, San Diego has allowed more passing touchdowns (13) than just two other teams. He should be a strong FantasyScore option at a cut-rate price.

Ravens | Joe Flacco struggles vs. blitz

Tue, 27 Oct 2015 06:23:33 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has completed only 49.4% of his passes when he has faced a blitz this season, which ranks 29th in the NFL. He is also tied for the league lead with five interceptions in those situations. Flacco was blitzed on 23 of his 43 dropbacks against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has been blitzed more often this season because the team has been without some of their better receivers. He will be facing the San Diego Chargers in Week 8 and does not appear to be a great starting option at this point.

Ravens | Joe Flacco in for rough night?

Mon, 26 Oct 2015 14:53:15 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has the worst total QBR and completion percentage in the league against the blitz this year, and the Arizona Cardinals blitz on 42% of opposing quarterback dropbacks, which is the third-highest rate in the league. The Ravens play the Cardinals in Week 7 Monday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals are a tough and aggressive defense overall, so it's unlikely that many considered Flacco ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) a good play on FantasyScore tonight. The Cards have allowed just nine touchdown passes this season.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has been decent against PIT

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 16:33:22 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has averaged 230.8 passing yards per game in his last nine games against the Pittsburgh Steelers with 12 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He is 3-4 in regular season play at Heinz Field in his career and has won three of his last five games there. Flacco is 155-for-251 (61.8%) for 1,596 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions in the regular season at Pittsburgh. Flacco faces the Steelers in Week 4 Thursday, Oct. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) certainly could be an excellent value pick at QB on FantasyScore against a young and inexperienced Steelers secondary. However, losing pass-catching tight end Crockett Gillmore for this tilt could hurt.

Ravens | Joe Flacco has struggled vs. Bengals

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 08:45:26 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has thrown 13 touchdowns and 18 interceptions against the Cincinnati Bengals in his career. The 18 interceptions are more than twice as many as he's thrown versus any other team.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) had one of the better games of his career last week, throwing for 384 yards and two touchdowns. If history is any indicator, though, he'll come back down to earth in Week 3. It's advisable to look elsewhere at quarterback on FantasyScore.

Ravens | Joe Flacco lights up the Raiders

Mon, 21 Sep 2015 12:01:57 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw for 384 yards and two touchdowns in the Ravens' Week 2 loss to the Oakland Raiders. He was five yards shy of his career-best passing yards in a single game.

Fantasy Tip: Oakland doesn't possess the most threatening pass defense, but they aren't necessarily a pushover either. This could easily end up as one of Flacco's best performances of the season, so don't go starting him every week just yet.

Ravens | Joe Flacco wants bigger plays on offense

Thu, 17 Sep 2015 16:18:36 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he hopes the team throws downfield more often moving forward because it is hard to consistently score points on long drives. "We need to take our shots," Flacco said. "If nothing else, at least it let teams know that we're going to do that." Flacco threw one pass of over 20 yards in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has some inexperienced weapons to work with at receiver and tight end, so it may take a little time to be more consistent in the passing game. Flacco will be facing the Oakland Raiders in Week 2 and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider because of the matchup.

Ravens | Joe Flacco struggles Saturday

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 18:15:20 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco finished 3-of-7 for 23 yards and two interceptions in a preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday, Aug. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco doesn't have the best weapons to throw to, and while he should make a solid QB2, you won't want to count on him as your regular starter.

Ravens | Matt Schaub helping Joe Flacco

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 18:40:16 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said QB Matt Schaub has helped him understand the concepts of offensive coordinator Marc Trestman's system.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco will have the occasional big game, but he has never reached 4,000 yards or 30 touchdowns in a season. Draft him as a QB2.

Ravens | Joe Flacco may rework deal soon

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 06:39:47 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco may be asked to restructure his contract in the near future because his salary cap figure for 2016 will be $28.5 million.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco received a lucrative contract a few years ago but probably will have to do something in order to reduce his salary cap figure. Flacco does not post great numbers but could be a solid No. 2 fantasy quarterback in leagues.

Ravens | Joe Flacco not worried about WRs

Sat, 25 Apr 2015 18:43:46 -0700

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he does not think the team needs to draft a wide receiver despite losing WR Torrey Smith to the San Francisco 49ers in free agency.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore's receiving corps isn't exactly intimidating right now, and unless the Ravens add some firepower, it is hard to believe Flacco will have much fantasy upside.

Ravens | Joe Flacco on board with Marc Trestman

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 09:43:49 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco will have his fourth difference offensive coordinator in as many years in offensive coordinator Marc Trestman. However, head coach John Harbaugh is confident Flacco will get along with Trestman after the quarterback was involved in the decision to hire Trestman in the first place. "I think personality-wise, they're going to hit it off really well. They've both very smart, they're both very detailed and they're both very direct in their communication," Harbaugh said.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco had the best season of his career under the tutelage of former offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak. With that said, Trestman has been known to have a knack for making QBs successful, but it'll still be hard for Flacco to repeat those numbers, especially if he loses some key offensive weapons this offseason.

Ravens | Joe Flacco's streak ends

Sat, 10 Jan 2015 17:33:10 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw for 292 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in a 35-31 loss to the New England Patriots in the divisional-round playoff game Saturday, Jan. 10, snapping his streak of five straight playoff games without throwing an interception.

Fantasy Tip: Even with the two picks, Flacco's postseason numbers remain impressive. Over his last six playoff games, he has thrown 17 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions. He may be inconsistent during the regular season, but come playoff time, Flacco usually delivers for fantasy owners.

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is 17-for-22 with 146 yards and three touchdowns in the first half of the divisional-round playoff game Saturday, Jan. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has been spectacular on short-to-intermediate routes. He has paid dividends on his $6,800 price tag on FantasyScore thus far.

Ravens | Joe Flacco more aggressive in playoffs

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 12:39:05 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has averaged 15.3 yards per completion in five straight playoff wins, a testament to how aggressive he is throwing downfield in the postseason. Additionally, Flacco has yet to be intercepted in the playoffs, throwing 166 straight passes without connecting with his opponent.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco has certainly succeeded in his postseason career, but the New England Patriots were better than average defending quarterbacks this year and Flacco threw nine of his 12 interceptions on the road in 2014.

Ravens | Joe Flacco will not avoid Darrelle Revis

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said the team will not avoid throwing to the receiver that New England Patriots CB Darrelle Revis will be covering during the Divisional Round playoff game, because avoiding Revis could affect the team's performance. "I think as a play-caller, you have to just go out there, rely on your guys that you have that are out there, rely on the fact that they have ability," Flacco said. "And as a quarterback, you have to go out there and just go through your reads. And if he's open, throw it to him; if he's not, don't."

Fantasy Tip: Flacco threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns in the wild-card playoff game and has played well in the playoffs during his career. Flacco costs $6,800 on FantasyScore and could be an option for owners looking to save some money, but he should be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback this week.

Ravens | Joe Flacco good at drawing interference

Wed, 07 Jan 2015 10:33:49 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has drawn 15 defensive pass interference penalties this year, which was the most by any quarterback. He has drawn 78 penalties since coming into the league in 2008, which is the most by an NFL quarterback in that span. Eleven of the 15 accepted penalties this year came on throws more than 15 yards downfield, and a common theme on those passes were underthrown balls. The Ravens have scored 56 points this year after an accepted pass interference penalty.

Fantasy Tip: Flacco ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) is a cheap QB option at FantasyScore this weekend, but he'll face a stiff test in the New England Patriots' revamped secondary. His upside in daily games is limited.

Ravens | Steve Smith has little success against Revis

Tue, 06 Jan 2015 09:59:21 -0800

Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith has been held to just two catches for 21 yards in three games when he's been matched up against New England Patriots CB Darrelle Revis in his career, according to Pro Football Focus. QB Joe Flacco has thrown Revis' way a total of three times out of 164 snaps against the Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear exactly who Revis will be covering this weekend, but it would make more sense for him to be matched up with Steve Smith. That doesn't make Smith an attractive FantasyScore option, and Flacco shouldn't be high on your list for QBs, either.

Ravens | Joe Flacco excels in playoffs

Mon, 05 Jan 2015 09:08:15 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is now 10-4 in the playoffs in his career after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card playoff round this weekend, and he's recorded seven of those wins on the road, which is two more than any other quarterback in NFL history. Flacco has tossed 13 touchdown passes and no interceptions in his last five playoff games. "Joe Flacco, what can you say," head coach John Harbaugh said. "He's the best quarterback in football. We'll take him any day of the week, twice on Sunday or Saturday if that be the case."

Fantasy Tip: Flacco had a nice matchup against the Steelers in the wild-card round. Facing the New England Patriots in the divisional round won't be as easy, if you were considering him for your FantasyScore lineups. Temper your expectations a bit more this weekend.

Ravens | Joe Flacco preparing for pressure

Thu, 01 Jan 2015 05:51:01 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco was sacked four times and hit 10 times Sunday, Nov. 2, during the 43-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. "They do a good amount of things, and they try to put pressure on the quarterback," Flacco said.

Fantasy Tip: The Steelers finished 27th in pass defense during the regular season and allowed 30 touchdowns through the air. Flacco ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) threw four touchdowns against Pittsburgh this season and posted passer ratings of 109.3 and 91.2 in their two meetings. Consider him a solid option in FantasyScore contests, and he is priced reasonably.

Ravens | Joe Flacco puts up stinker

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 10:17:21 -0800

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco went 21-for-50 for 195 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions against the Houston Texans in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: We expect Flacco and the Ravens to bounce back in the season finale against the Cleveland Browns, but Flacco remains a midrange starting QB at FantasyScore.
