Wed, 01 Feb 2012 06:45:40 -0800 Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti provided a timetable for negotiations with QB Joe Flacco on a long-term contract extension, saying he would like a deal to be done this year. "I would anticipate an extension that starts in 2012," Bisciotti said. "Our goal is to get it done for 2012 for sure." Flacco is heading into the final year of his rookie contract. However, it's not clear if Flacco's recent performance has affected Bisciotti's stated plans to start negotiations before the 2012 season. Several insiders acknowledged that it should at least give the organization something more to think about.

Flacco also ran four times for 27 yards. It was a disappointing ending for Flacco and the Ravens, but he did well.
Thu, 19 Jan 2012 05:58:38 -0800 Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis said comments made by FS Ed Reed regarding QB Joe Flacco's play in the Divisional Round will not serve as a distraction moving forward. "It's not an issue," Lewis said. "The only issue we have as a team is going up and trying to get a win in Foxborough. Anything else anyone wants to bring up is irrelevant. Every person in our locker room is thinking the same way."
Thu, 19 Jan 2012 05:55:24 -0800 Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco responded to teammate FS Ed Reed's comments that he was "rattled" in the Divisional Round playoff game and "just didn't look like he had a hold on the offense," saying "it's not that big of a deal." Flacco said he has spoken to Reed about the comments. "When I first saw it, I was like: 'What's going on?,'" Flacco said. "Like I said, we talked about it. We're a team around here. It's not that big of an issue. I really don't take things that bad. It's Ed. It is what it is."
Wed, 18 Jan 2012 05:19:31 -0800 Baltimore Ravens FS Ed Reed said QB Joe Flacco was rattled by the Houston Texans defense in their Divisional Round playoff matchup and will have to play better in the AFC Championship Game. "I think Joe was kind of rattled a little bit by (Houston's) defense," Reed said. "(The Texans) had a lot of guys in the box on him. And, I mean, they were getting to him. I think a couple times he needed to get rid of the ball. I don't know how much of the playcalling ... but it just didn't look like he had a hold on the offense ... It was just kind of like (Baltimore's coaches) was telling him to do, throw the ball or get it here, you know, get it to certain guys. And he can't play like that."
Mon, 16 Jan 2012 06:15:22 -0800 Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco will earn $200,000 for every postseason victory. Flacco already has secured about $6.4 million for his 2012 contract. Mon, 16 Jan 2012 06:08:00 -0800 Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco would like to receive a contract extension sooner rather than later with his rookie deal set to expire following the 2012 season. However, according to sources close to him, Flacco also knows that any real leverage in negotiations only will be gained during the playoffs after a season in which he failed to reach many of his 2010 marks. The likelihood of Flacco receiving a new contract rises if he makes strides during this postseason, and it could create more pressure on the organization to get a deal done. If he doesn't perform well, it will be much more likely that he must play out the duration of his rookie deal.
Sun, 15 Jan 2012 18:54:36 -0800 Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Sunday, Jan. 15, that he felt QB Joe Flacco did a good job in the Divisional Round playoff game against the Houston Texans. "I thought he did a great job under fire. That's a premier pass rush team and we didn't do a great job always of blocking," Harbaugh said.
