Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (concussion) did some running Monday, Dec. 2, and is hoping to play in Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins after suffering a concussion in the team's Week 13 contest. "I'm going to take it day by day and see where we're at," Bell said. "The goal is obviously to play but if (I'm) not able to I'm not able to." Bell doesn't remember the hit but hasn't had many lingering effects from the violent collision. He took an ImPACT test Sunday, Dec. 1, and will have to pass more concussion tests before being cleared.
Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Bell will have over a full week to recover from his ugly concussion. It will all depend on whether he passes the concussion tests this week. The fact that he's already running is a good sign, though. Felix Jones and Jonathan Dwyer will split the duties in the backfield if Bell isn't cleared. If Bell plays, he should be in your lineups against the Miami Dolphins. Jones and Dwyer are desperation flex plays.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is expected to make his season debut against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4, but QB Ben Roethlisberger isn't so sure of that. "Honestly, I have no idea with him," Roethlisberger said. "You can't get a read on him. One day, he's practicing, one day, he's not; one day, he's going hard, the next day, he's not. I wish I could." Bell was banged up in the preseason and only rushed four times for nine yards.
Fantasy Tip: Mike Tomlin continues to say that how much Bell plays on Sunday will depend on how he looks in practice this week. Stay updated on Bell's practice status, but we get the feeling that he'll be eased in against the Vikings before the team's Week 5 bye. It'd be unwise to rely on him this week. Felix Jones or Jonathan Dwyer are better options.
Tue, 24 Sep 2013 12:45:01 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman, the team's Week 1 starter at running back, is now listed as fourth on the depth chart behind RBs Felix Jones, Le'Veon Bell (foot) and Jonathan Dwyer, in that order. Jones is the team's leading rusher with 71 yards and is averaging 4.2 yards per carry. Bell is expected to play in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings, but they'll likely ease him back into the mix.
Fantasy Tip: With Pitt's bye week in Week 5, they won't want to put too much on the shoulders of Bell immediately. He's the best back to own in this backfield long term, but Jones is probably the better play against the Vikes.
Tue, 24 Sep 2013 09:49:07 -0700
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is expected to play in the team's Week 4 game in London against the Minnesota Vikings. Bell has progressed ahead of schedule from his injury.
Fantasy Tip: Bell may not be 100 percent this weekend, but it looks like there's a good chance he'll be on the field. A combination of Felix Jones, Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman haven't gotten it done in three weeks. Dwyer looked solid last week, however, so he may split the carries with Bell this weekend.
Fri, 20 Sep 2013 10:30:29 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator said the team will try to get RB Felix Jones the ball more in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. "I thought he did a good job on the carries he had," Haley said of Jones' effort in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals, when he ran 10 times for 37 yards. "He found the holes that were there. We need to do a better job of creating some space for him because he does look like he has some ability if we can get him into some space." The offensive line will use more of their zone blocking scheme this week.
Fantasy Tip: A weak offensive line and a tough matchup against the Bears isn't a good combination for Jones this week. The move to more of a zone blocking scheme should be good for Jones in the short term, though, until Le'Veon Bell (foot) makes his return.
Thu, 19 Sep 2013 13:32:03 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) practiced in full Thursday, Sept. 19. However, Bell doesn't think he'll be able to play in Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: Great news for Bell owners. However, the Steelers could opt to be cautious and keep him out until after their Week 5 bye. Until then, Felix Jones and Isaac Redman will likely share the backfield duties. Neither running back is a very exciting flex play behind a patchwork offensive line.
Mon, 16 Sep 2013 18:41:30 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Felix Jones was given the first rush in the Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals Monday, Sept. 16.
Fantasy Tip: Before you get too excited about the fantasy prospects of Jones, it was apparently more of an emergency situation with Isaac Redman (concussion) suffering a possible concussion on the opening kickoff. Stay tuned.
Thu, 12 Sep 2013 10:53:57 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer is unsure what his role will be heading into Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. "They told me to get ready and play," Dwyer said. "I don't know exactly what I'm doing. I'm just getting myself ready to play." The Steelers finished with only 32 total rushing yards in Week 1, the second lowest around the league, and RB Isaac Redman fumbled twice and had only eight carries for nine yards.
Fantasy Tip: Redman has already been named the starter for Week 2, but that could change depending on how he fares early on. Dwyer is comfortable with the team and led them in rushing last year, so it's conceivable that he could become fantasy-relevant in a hurry with Le'Veon Bell (foot) out another month. Felix Jones hasn't been a quick study of the offense. Get Dwyer on the cheap if you're speculating and are in need of RB depth.
Wed, 11 Sep 2013 07:56:48 -0700
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell's (foot) injury is now being classified as a Lisfranc sprain, according to a source. The team is now hoping he returns in a month.
Fantasy Tip: Well, so much for those Week 3 hopes. The team has a bye in Week 5, and they'll play the New York Jets in Week 6. Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer and Felix Jones will continue to share the work, with Redman the starter. Try to hold onto Bell for a few more weeks, but understand these things could eventually mean a lost season.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 13:19:54 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Felix Jones is listed last on the team's running back depth chart, and head coach Mike Tomlin said Jones' lack of experience in the offense is the reason why he played very little in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. Recently re-signed RB Jonathan Dwyer is even listed ahead of Jones.
Fantasy Tip: With Dwyer back in the fold and Le'Veon Bell (foot) possibly returning next week, Jones' chances of making an impact in the running game appear very slim.
Mon, 09 Sep 2013 05:15:17 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers will re-sign RB Jonathan Dwyer.
Fantasy Tip: He's worth a speculative add. Isaac Redman fumbled and didn't do much in Week 1. Felix Jones didn't see a carry, and LaRod Stephens-Howling (knee) is out for the season. Dwyer could step right in and have a prominent role.
Wed, 04 Sep 2013 15:12:20 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RBs Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling likely will receive playing time Week 1 even though RB Isaac Redman will start the game. Stephens-Howling is expected to be the third-down back, while Jones likely will receive time when Redman needs a break.
Tue, 03 Sep 2013 13:06:13 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman will start at running back for the team in Week 1, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. "We know what Isaac is capable of. He's answered the bell for us in the past," Tomlin said at his weekly news conference. "We expect him to do it in a big way moving forward."
Fantasy Tip: While Redman will get the start, it is likely that the Steelers will still give Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling carries at times. While there is something to be said for any starting running back having value, this one still has a lot of uncertainty around it.
Mon, 02 Sep 2013 11:23:00 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman said he expects to start while RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is out of the lineup. Redman said the coaches do not want to use a committee at running back, and he does not want to give them a reason to use a committee.
Fantasy Tip: If Redman does get the start, he will still have to share some carries with Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling. Redman probably would be a flex option if he is the team's starting running back.
Mon, 02 Sep 2013 05:49:49 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Felix Jones is expected to start Week 1. He likely vaulted ahead of RBs Isaac Redman and LaRod Stephens-Howling with 14 carries for 56 yards in the final preseason game.
Fantasy Tip: Here's another interesting twist in the Pittsburgh camp. If Jones lands the starting gig, he'd make for an RB3 until Le'Veon Bell (foot) returns. The zone-blocking scheme could serve him well, and who knows? Maybe this late bloomer could take off.
Sun, 01 Sep 2013 09:32:56 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RBs Isaac Redman, Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling are expected to share playing time until RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is able to recover from his foot injury.
Fri, 23 Aug 2013 07:04:50 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired RB Felix Jones from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for LB Adrian Robinson.
Fantasy Tip: With Le'Veon Bell (foot) possibly out at least the first four games, Jones has a chance to put pressure on the underwhelming duo of Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman. Jones is a late-round flier or an intriguing waiver-wire option.
Thu, 15 Aug 2013 19:14:46 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Felix Jones (ribs) injured his ribs during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15, and is scheduled to undergo X-rays.
Tue, 06 Aug 2013 16:19:37 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Felix Jones (hamstring) left practice Tuesday, Aug. 6, due to a hamstring injury. The severity is not yet known.
Fantasy Tip: Jones is battling Chris Polk for the No. 3 RB job behind LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown. If Jones is out for too long, Polk might have the inside track. However, the winner of this battle has little fantasy appeal unless injuries to McCoy or Brown create more opportunities.
Tue, 06 Aug 2013 12:42:56 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles WR Damaris Johnson (hamstring) and RB Felix Jones (hamstring) both are dealing with hamstring injuries.
Tue, 06 Aug 2013 09:18:11 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RBs Chris Polk and Felix Jones are battling for the No. 3 running back job behind RBs LeSean McCoy and Bryce Brown. Polk has the familiarity of the offense of head coach Chip Kelly from his days in the Pac-12, while Jones has the advantage of also being useful in the kick return game.
Fri, 17 May 2013 15:00:07 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles believes RB Felix Jones can make the final roster and contribute on offense this season.
Wed, 15 May 2013 07:23:04 -0700
Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB Felix Jones will receive a $32,500 signing bonus and will make another $32,500 bonus if he makes the 46-man roster Week 1.
Tue, 14 May 2013 12:02:52 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Felix Jones does not know what his role will be with the team, or what type of offense the team plays. Jones does not want to get ahead of himself.
Fantasy Tip: Jones still has plenty of time to figure out where he fits in the Eaglesí offense as the offseason moves on. Monitor how he is used in training camp and preseason games to get an idea of how Chip Kelly plans to use him.
Tue, 14 May 2013 11:36:41 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB Felix Jones (knee) said he is completely healthy. "Feeling good ... Feeling fast," Jones said. Jones dealt with a knee issue in 2012.
Fantasy Tip: Good news for Jones as he begins his tenure with the Eagles. With the Eagles expected to run the ball more with different sets under head coach Chip Kelly, it would suggest Jones could get some looks as a backup running back, and could be one of the better back up running back options on the board behind LeSean McCoy, if he beats out Bryce Brown, who he will compete with for the backup job.
Tue, 14 May 2013 05:29:15 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles signed free-agent RB Felix Jones (Cowboys) to a one-year deal.
Fantasy Tip: He'll compete for a backup spot behind LeSean McCoy. McCoy isn't extremely durable, so Jones could figure into the equation at some point.
Wed, 08 May 2013 16:10:03 -0700
The New England Patriots are meeting with free-agent RB Felix Jones (Cowboys) Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9. Jones is expected to work out for the team during the visit.

The Dallas Cowboys are open to bringing back unrestricted free agent RB Felix Jones to back up RB DeMarco Murray, according to owner/general manager Jerry Jones. "We've got to look at the backup backfield," Jerry Jones said. "You can't dismiss Felix. I don't want to dismiss him from our thinking."
Sat, 09 Mar 2013 11:58:00 -0800
Free-agent RB Felix Jones (Cowboys) is receiving interest from teams but most of the teams are looking at Jones as a backup. The Cowboys have minimal interest in re-signing Jones.
Sun, 03 Mar 2013 20:11:00 -0800
It seems like it has been a foregone conclusion, but the Dallas Cowboys are unlikely to bring back impending free-agent RB Felix Jones. The team is looking for durable players at the running back position, and Jones has been anything but durable during his Cowboys career.
Sun, 03 Mar 2013 11:24:08 -0800
The New York Jets could show interest in Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent RB Felix Jones this offseason if he is willing to accept an inexpensive contract.
Wed, 13 Feb 2013 11:35:30 -0800
Dallas Cowboys impending free agent RB Felix Jones could return to Dallas on a one-year contract, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com. Watkins points out that it is unlikely Jones will get a big contract in free agency, and that Jones could be a dependable backup to DeMarco Murray.
Fri, 18 Jan 2013 10:17:55 -0800
The Green Bay Packers feel the need to find a lead back heading into the 2013 season, and that man may not be on the current roster. The Packers shuffled through as many as six running backs this season and weren't satisfied with any of their options. Among the unrestricted free agents they could target this offseason include St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson, Miami Dolphins RB Reggie Bush, Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones and New York Jets RB Shonn Greene. Green Bay would likely be interested in Jackson in the secondary market because he'll be 30 this year.
The Packers had some success using RBs DuJuan Harris, Alex Green and James Starks, but only enough to occasionally draw an opponent's safety into the box. "If you're running the ball and they're closing the middle of the field and bringing an extra guy down, it obviously plays to our strengths as a pass group," running backs coach Alex Van Pelt said. "There were times when I thought we forced their hand and they had to stop it, but we'd obviously like to be more consistent and more productive from start to finish." Harris has plenty of potential, but his lack of size led him to wear down at the end. Green Bay is unlikely to take another chance with RB Cedric Benson and the team might not be willing to pay Starks $1.323 million given his injury history.
Tue, 08 Jan 2013 19:23:14 -0800
Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones is in the final year of his deal, and he is unlikely to be re-signed, especially since young RBs Lance Dunbar and Phillip Tanner showed promise behind RB DeMarco Murray.
